This week, Peter is helping those with a tight budget, create Halloween costumes from your casual day-to-day outfits!
Halloween is just around the corner and you still haven’t figured out what you want to be. All the good costumes are sold and you don’t have any choice unless making something yourself. Now, I know that it may seem hard, but it is actually super easy. You just need to figure out what you want and a lot of spare time to make it. I made a list of some garments that probably 90 percent of people have and under that, the ideas how to use them. If you are not among those 90 percent of people…Stay home this year, lol.
This is a garment you have to have. It is like the most basic and common thing ever. Here are some ideas what to do with them.
Despicable me Minion
Just pair them up with long sleeved yellow T – shirt, black boots, yellow beanie and the signature minion round glasses. It will be a great DIY project, easy and super funny.
This one is similar as the minion one, just instead of a yellow shirt and cap wear red shirt and cap and some white gloves. Oh, and don’t forget to make a mustache.
Paint your face white, put a black or red beret on your head, white gloves and some black overalls. Shut your mouth and really try to put yourself into the role.
This one is similar as the mime. Put on black trousers, black gloves and eye mask. If you want to you can also bring a bag with dollar sign on it with you.
Put on an eye patch and a pirate hat and take a toy sword with you. Add some black knee boots and pants and you are good to go.
One word: Baywatch. Is there anyone on planet Earth that doesn’t like Pamela? Seriously. To look like Pamela from Baywatch, you will need a red one piece swimwear, a blond wig, some balls or balloons to make your cha cha’s really big, and of course a really heavy makeup on your face.
Short Leather Skirt
Let’s play a guessing game, shall we? Okay. Which person from which most popular teen movie of all time wears a leather skirt? That’s right – Regina George. Combine this skirt with a short pink cardigan, white tank top with a cool print on front, necklace with an R pendant and a blonde wig and you instantly became so FETCH!
Come on, you have to have this item hidden in some corner of your closet. It is the chicest fall essential ever.
For this one your hands are going to get a little tired because you will have to carry a globe with you during the whole party, because without it, your costume won’t make sense. Put on a cute working outfit with a cute hat and add a soft makeup to it.
You can be the detective only if you have a beige trench coat. Wear it buckled with black shoes, black aviator sunglasses and a black hat.
Basic green dress
There is only one way to use this: to become Marge Simpson. As for the outfit, you just need to add red heels and red necklace. Your makeup needs to be on the minimum and as for the hair, you can find a wig online or make it yourself out of multiple blue wigs and a cardboard.
Oh, and I almost forgot, you will have to paint your entire visible skin in yellow – this means that you have to be extremely careful not to get sweaty, because it will start to drip and you will look like you have some kind of a disease (or like someone who had a lot of corn for lunch just threw up on you).
Yellow Crop Top
Did you watch Pokemon? I’m sure you did. Then, you sure know who Misty is, right? Well, this is the easiest and the coolest costume to make. Take your yellow crop top and your denim shorts. Put them on. You are halfway there already. Not add red suspenders to all that, with white sneakers and tie your hair into a ponytail at the top right part of your head and you are done.
White Polo T-Shirt
These are designed specially for men, since usually the men are those who have white polo shirts.
Paint your face, neck and arms in yellow, put on a yellow swimming cap (unless you are bald) and put on your jeans or dark blue trousers. You can also add the beer belly (if you don’t already have one) by putting a pillow under your shirt.
The golf player
White t-shirt + any trousers you like + white cap + a golf Club = a golf player costume.
That would be it. I hope I gave you some inspiration and that you will make your costume in time. Happy Halloween!
