I started my blog merely to answer the burning questions that my mum wanted to know after seeing her daughter graduate from university and move down to the big city of London. From there, it progressed into what it is today.
I’m 25 years old and work in theatre as my full-time job. Freelance writing and blogging is on the side for now and I post around 5 blogs per week. I know, where do I get the time right? Trust me, I’m rooting to get more hours in the day.
Now for the boring bit which is kind of explained here.
- Some of my posts will have disclaimers at the bottom. This is either because I’ve been sent products to review, invited along to an event and asked to blog about it or have received a fee in return for a post. This by no means affects my opinion and the content is written only by myself.
- I also use affiliate links (a link you click on that rewards me a small amount either per click or per transaction). It can be a great little earner so if you’re able to support, then please click away.
And back to some fun stuff, a few facts about myself and the blog…
Q. Why is your blog called UpYourVlog?
The name actually comes from a YouTube Channel that was meant to be started by myself and three of my other friends at university. We never got round to doing it so I thought I’d put it to good use.
Q. When did you start blogging?
I started officially back in 2014 but I’d only consider myself a semi-professional in the industry since the beginning of 2017. Blogging is a wonderful, new industry that’s constantly evolving and changing. It’s exciting.
Q. What’s been your best experience with blogging?
I think the best experience for me so far has been the events and opportunities that I’ve received through blogging. My blog is a great platform to showcase some incredible brands and companies that don’t necessarily get the recognition in this digital world.
Q. What camera do you use to take your photos?
I have been using the Olympus Pen range since I started my blog and the latest one I have is the E-PL7 which I highly recommend. I love the fact it’s mirrorless so I’m able to take perfect selfies!
