A Guide to Stress-Free Wedding Reception Organisation

It might be that you are organising your own wedding, or you have been entrusted the task by a dear friend who is soon to be tying the knot. Either way, this is one huge responsibility and one that demands organisation and efficiency, and with that in mind, we offer valuable advice to those who are tasked with planning a wedding.

Make the best use of available technology

We are certainly living in a digital world and when planning a wedding, you should make the best use of the Internet. Google is your best friend and can find any service you are looking for; a search engine is also a great tool for comparing quotes, while you can create online calendars complete with notifications. Real-time video calls empower you in many ways and they are free!

List your vendors

Things can get complicated really quickly, what with caterers, photography, entertainment, and the menu; start with the top florist in Sydney who has a diverse range of wedding bouquets, then list vendors as you contact them. The pro event planner stores all their data on the cloud, which allows you access from any location; we recommend that you do the same. Make sure you confirm all vendors 48 hours before the event, which gives you time to find alternatives if need be.

The venue is the key

If you choose a venue that specialises in weddings, they have everything you could possibly need, and some! Catering, accommodation, live entertainment, ample parking, restrooms, and a range of event rooms, with outdoor options for summer weddings. Hiring a hall might be much cheaper but think about all the services you would need to source; when you add it all up, you would probably spend more than if you used a resort or hotel that hosts weddings.

Setting a budget

If you don’t set a budget, you will spend far more than you planned; sit down with your partner and decide how much you are prepared to invest in your special day. That said, we don’t advise that you go into debt to have a big wedding, it simply isn’t worth starting out the union with a debt hanging over your head; this would put a lot of stress on both of you. Dealing with a single person

The great thing about using an established wedding venue is you only have to deal with one person, the hotel/resort assigns you an event manager, a professional planner who is there to make sure your day is one to be remembered for the right reasons. Why stress yourself out trying to set everything up when there is an event planner at your service?

There are some cool free resources online to help with event planning, which will help you to manage the process. Once everything is in place, you can relax and enjoy the experience.
