How To Plan An Active Holiday For 2024

If you’re someone who enjoys a more active holiday than lounging around the pool, then there are plenty of opportunities to craft the perfect getaway in 2024. From the UK to Spain, there are plenty of locations to take advantage of when it comes to booking your next adventure. Here are some helpful tips to plan an active holiday in 2024.

Create an itinerary

If you’re looking to make the most out of any holiday, then an itinerary is a much-needed addition to any active holiday. I’m not always one to be the most organised when it comes to making the most of my holidays away. Whether that’s abroad or as a staycation here in the UK, I wish that I’d made more detailed itineraries when I went away, especially to locations that were once-in-a-lifetime kind of destinations.

With a planned itinerary, you’ll find you get a lot more out of your holiday plans, and as a result, you’ll come away with a more fulfilled experience.

Look at locations popular for hiking

Not everyone wants to lie around all day, relaxing – although that’s something that I love doing when I go away for a break. However, if you’re looking to enjoy a more active holiday, then look at locations that are popular for hiking.

Hiking holidays are a great way to see outdoors and get fresh air into those lungs! Being able to take advantage of pre-planned hikes is a lot easier than having to organise it yourself. For hiking holidays, there is plenty of choice not only here in the UK but abroad too.

Find local sports activities

Whenever we’ve stayed at a resort abroad before, we’ve been offered local sports activities as part of the holiday package. There are lots of local sports activities that are worth testing out, especially when you’re in a location that’s new and perhaps offers more unique sports than what you’re used to.

Whether you’re looking to play with your own party or those local to the area, partaking in a few sports is a great way to make your holiday a more active one.

Do something new

When you’re looking to embrace an active holiday, consider doing something new. It’s always good to challenge yourself, especially when it comes to physical activity. This could be sky diving to scuba diving. There are a lot of sports activities that I would love to take advantage of. Doing something new can make the experience more memorable.

So make sure to try out something new, whether that’s trying a new sport or an activity that you’ve always had on your bucket list.
