This feels like a good post. It’s the start of a new chapter in my journey as a mum and let me tell you, becoming a parent has been a journey. Having taken maternity leave as a self-employed person, I struggled to make do with what I got from the government. As such, I went back sooner than I hoped for fear of losing out on clients.
And I feel like I’m back to basics when it comes to my freelance career. While I have a couple of consistent clients, it’s nowhere near what I was doing before Sonny and that’s ACTUALLY alright.
The reason why it’s alright is because now I want to focus on building up my blog. Doing social media and the things that bring me a lot of joy. Freelance writing is fun and I believe it’s always going to be my bread and butter but now I’m excited to get back into blogging and doing more of it.
So what does the future hold for me? We’re at the start of 2025, I’m 32 years old and now living outside of London near to home but me and my husband are at a halfway point. We’re staying with my in-laws and saving until we’re ready to move into hopefully a forever home back in my hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, or Staffordshire as my mum often corrects me.
The biggest change of late is that my little one is now going to a childminders, which means I’ve got two FULL days to do whatever I want with. And I’m obviously going to work on my internet empire of course. So let’s dive into it!

UpYourVlog is my baby. It really is where it all began and I’m not going to change this blog. I’m happy with the layout and the content I produce on this blog. I’ll probably take my time to update all the posts I’ve ever made so that they hopefully become more SEO-friendly and benefit the collaborations I get in the future.
I want to blog about everything and anything because this blog really has no niche. As far as my socials go, they’ll remain UpYourVlog and I’m excited to see what collaborations hold for 2025.
How about Tilly & Rouge?
Tilly & Rouge is one of those names that I am manifesting to turn into a proper brand. I’d love to create products under this name, but in the meantime, this blog is going to focus on the more luxury aspects of life. I’d also like to do more home and interior on this blog too, especially when we end up moving into our next home, whenever that might be in the future.
This blog is different to UpYourVlog. I want to keep it a more luxurious and thought-out site that I really curate when it comes to the content that goes on there. I’m really excited about content planning on this blog for 2025.
And Crime Vlogs Weekly?
I’m going to take the first and middle part of this year to work on content for the YouTube channel. If anyone knows me, then they’ll know I’m a fiend when it comes to true crime. I would love to fire up the YouTube videos again but realistically, I want to be in my own home so that I have a proper studio set up with lights and everything before I commit to it again. Let me know if you watched my YouTube videos here and send me suggestions of cases to cover.
Any other projects?
I wouldn’t be me unless I had other hopes and dreams on the back burner. I have a third blog I want to set up, specifically for Money & Business related content. I feel like as a society, we don’t get enough education on finance and business, especially growing up. Learning how to budget, how to spend and invest your money, I want to cover all of it in this new blog, so keep your eyes peeled for announcements at some point this year.
Other than that, my attitude towards work has refocused slightly. While I’m a workaholic, I’ve started reading again. I would like to pick up some exercise classes at some point, pass my driving test eventually, and try to live in the moment a little more with my own little family. 2025 is looking to be an exciting year ahead, what plans do you have?
