How To Get More Out Of Your Workouts

Working out, you can have your good days but then you can also have your bad days. Sometimes it can’t be helped but like with anything, it’s all about finding what you’re comfortable with and pushing your own limits. Here’s how to get more out of your workouts.

Warm Up And Cool Down Properly

Many of us will forget to warm up and cool down at the start and end of every workout session or sports activity. However, not doing it can hinder your physical health over the next few days and that can lead to poor performance in the gym or at a training class if you’re muscles are sore and tight. To help you get the most out of your body, it’s always worth warming up to stretch out the muscles and then doing a cool down to help bring your heart rate back to normal.

Oxygen Cannisters

It might seem like an odd suggestion but they can actually aid your workouts. Oxygen is good to have more of in the blood because it can help with a wide variety of issues that you can usually experience through exercise. These are the following, but not limited to; headaches, tiredness, and sports performance.  I tend to struggle with tiredness, especially with doing two full-time roles and then having to fit in fitness in between all that madness. So fitness oxygen is something that I could definitely get on board with myself.

Push A Little More Each Time

This is most apparent when doing cardio or weight training, where you may be running on a treadmill or doing several weighted leg workouts on a machine. Make it your mission to push that little bit more each time because you’d be surprised at just how much of an improvement you can make each time. Obviously, it’s important not to push yourself too much that you cause injury but there are plenty of moments where you think that maybe you could do 5kg more or you try to beat your time on the rowing machine.

Listen To Music

When it comes to entertainment when working out, it’s best not to be watching anything on the television or on your phone. This causes too much distraction and it can actually slow you down because your focus is elsewhere. However, listening to music has the opposite effect because it can boost your mood and motivate you to work harder and to move faster, depending on the music you pick. Have a personalised playlist that you can have on while working out and update this as often as you wish. Music is certainly inspiring and it’s something I want to incorporate into my own trips to the gym.

You’ve always got the ability to improve with anything that you do so look at your workout sessions and how you can change or adapt it to get more out of it each time. Exercise can be fun, once you’ve found your rhythm. Do you work out regularly? Let me know how you could get more out of your workouts in the comments below.
