We have to remain positive that we’ll hopefully overcome this virus sooner rather than later. It’s heartbreaking to see so many people lose their lives to this virus, not just those here in the UK but across the globe. So to keep things light and positive, I thought I’d share some holiday trip ideas that we can all hopefully do in the UK for 2020.

Hire A Motor Home
When it comes to travelling around the UK, it’s nice sometimes to not have to rely on public transport and to have the freedom of going anywhere you want. That’s why motor homes are becoming a popular option for many of those holidaymakers in the UK that are looking for an element of luxury without having to venture too far from their own homes. Also having spent so much time in our homes, we might not want to go to further afield when it comes to our first holiday post-Covid-19. If you’re looking at hiring one, then checking out Freedhome Motorhomes is worth doing.
Explore The History Of Bath
The history of Bath is probably one of the most interesting to visit when you are a UK citizen. This is because Bath has some beautiful sights to explore, including the Roman Baths located in the city center. We were meant to go as backup but then decided against it due to the quickly escalating situation of the virus at the time. It was a good decision as we ended up going into lockdown on the day before that we had planned to go. It’s definitely one place we want to visit though and hopefully I’ve rescheduled our trip to go in September.
Go On A Hiking Holiday
If you fancy getting some fresh air into the lungs, then a hiking holiday tends to be a fairly enjoyable trip to take. Take in the great outdoors whilst getting plenty of exercise in the process. There are plenty of companies that can help organise the trip itself and to pick out the best routes depending on what it is you’re wanting to see when out hiking. There are smaller groups too that do more personal ones, so it’s worth doing your research and finding the best options out there.
Take A Rail Tour
Some of the best sights can be seen on foot but there are some experiences like rail tours that can offer a truly wonderful experience. Steam trains are a thing of the past nowadays compared to modern trains in action across main lines. However, there are still some in operation and are capitalising on offering a vintage experience that is usually accompanied with on-board dining. Some of the best ones can be found up in Scotland where there’s stunning views and an opportunity to go across the Glenfinnan Viaduct – otherwise known as the Harry Potter Bridge!
Hopefully this provides you with a bit of excitement as you plan any upcoming trips after this virus is over. It’s important to stay positive and hopeful. Regardless of how long it is until we’re out of the storm, it’ll be a great few months for those who want to get out and make the most of the rest of the year. These holiday trip ideas will hopefully inspire your next ones once this all blows over!
