The Habits to Keep Doing Even Once Lockdown Ends

Life in lockdown has changed how we do so many things. Now there are many people who are homeschooling, after never crossing their minds before, as well as virtual lessons and classes, and endless Zoom pub quiz nights. Although things are starting to ease up, and things are slowly getting back to normal (or a new normal, at least), there are some habits that many of us will carry on doing. Here are some of the things that are still a good idea to keep up with, even after lockdown.

Habits*This is a collaborative post.

Family Walks

Has there ever been such a time when we have all had so much time together? With the majority of children off school, although some are back at school, it has been great to explore the great outdoors together. Whether you’ve headed out for a walk or had little ones learning to ride a bike, the family time outdoors is something that can be great habits to have.

Cooking from Scratch

Even with many restaurants offering takeaways, and fast food places now open for collection or delivery, it is still a good time to be cooking your meals at home from scratch. Although it can feel relentless, as there is always someone saying they’re hungry, cooking from scratch, rather than grabbing fast food and takeaways, which may have happened before, is a great thing to keep up. It can help the family in a number of ways, from health benefits to reducing waste and saving money on the weekly shop.

Subscription Deliveries

With the majority of stores closed, and people feeling reluctant to even go to the supermarket unless they really had to, it led to many of us shopping online. From dishwasher tablets from SmolProducts.com to getting a coffee subscription delivered from TwoChimpsCoffee.com, you can pretty much buy anything online. This is still a good thing to keep up with, as it means that we can still reduce how much we are all out of the house. Many non-essential stores have now opened up, but if you can buy it online, that is still a good idea.

PE with Joe

Joe Wicks has been making headlines with his ‘PE lessons’ online each morning, and raising money for the NHS at the same time. Although they are drawing to a close every morning, they are all still online to view, and he will still be doing three live classes a week. It is a healthy habit to get into, and just a little exercise for all of the family each day (or every couple of days), is something that will be a great idea to carry on with.

Helping Others

Although the world has been in turmoil, it has been so nice to see how people are helping each other and their communities. Many people were talking to neighbours and people on their streets for the first time, and helping those vulnerable in the community, getting shopping for them, and so on. This is definitely one of the habits that would be a shame to see the back of after lockdown.
