One thing that I’m looking forward to when it comes to moving property is being able to have a house where I can go to town with artwork. I love art and I feel it can make such a difference to the space, especially for more netural coloured rooms. With that being said, I wanted to introduce you guys to an upcoming artist here in the UK, Toni Thornton. Now sadly, I wasn’t passed down my dad’s talent of painting and art because I would have loved to be able to draw and paint. It looks so therapeutic and I’m a big fan of the abstract artwork.

*This is a collaborative post.Toni’s artwork is certainly thought-provoking. I love this style of art because you can interpret it in any way, shape, or form that you want. I also think it’s very fluid in that it could likely match most interiors in the average home. There’s definitely a muted palette that Toni uses which I think despite it lacking those vivid colours, her art still stands out just as bright.
Her artwork also spills into soft furnishings where her work is printed onto cushions. I really love her focus on land and sea as there’s something comforting about looking at artwork that reflects nature. As human beings, we need that connection with nature and it can end up bringing a lot of joy and satisfaction – well it does to me.
Toni launched her artwork business back in 2017 and Instagram quickly became the platform her to showcase her amazing designs and talents as an artist. She’s helped those who’ve bought from her, to create bespoke pieces and has her work featured in homes all over the world from her in England to Amsterdam, Canada, Germany, Spain, and more.
Her inspiration comes from many sources. When it comes to making bespoke work for individuals, she often gets to see the room it would go in. This gives her the feel of the space, the inspiration, and the beauty of the items that are already in it. That way, her artwork created flows with the overall vibe of the room.
I honestly love hearing about an artist’s journey and the inspiration that contributes to their work. Toni Thornton is definitely one to watch and if you want to check out her work, you should! Toni Thorton Art sells original work as well as bespoke pieces for anyone who wishes to commission her.
