Father’s Day is like for so many, an important day to celebrate the father figures in our lives. Whether it’s a biological one or not, having a parent of any kind is essential. They help to teach you about the difference between right and wrong. They instil their own values and opinions in you but let you have your own opinions too, even if those opinions are something that doesn’t match up. My dad is truly one of a kind because I don’t think there’s anyone else out there that is as crazy as he is. He’s hilarious without even needing to put much effort in and he cares unconditionally. He’s definitely the rock of our family and the voice that I turn to when I need honest advice. Moonpig is an online card and gift shop that I am always using when it comes to birthdays and special occasions. They wanted to help me celebrate my dad on Father’s Day and there’s only one way to my dad’s heart and that’s…beer.

I always find it’s harder to shop for men but I’m pretty sure it’s the same the other way around too. Beer has always been a favourite of my dad’s and even though he’s super fit and healthy now due to all the running he’s doing, and an alcoholic beverage in the form of a cold tin or bottle is definitely up his street.
I decided to get him some craft ales as Moonpig offers some great selections of beers and lagers that are perhaps more unique than what you’d pick up at a local supermarket. It’s also great to support different breweries and smaller companies who are new to the beer industry.
We’re having to do Father’s Day under lockdown and since this lockdown began, I’ve missed out on quite a lot already. It’s important to, therefore, spend as much time as you can with loved ones, even if you’re miles away. I’m missing not living back at home simply so that I could see my family in the flesh and at least spend time socially distanced away, rather than just over facetime. Nevertheless, my Dad was chuffed with the craft ales I sent him and the card, of course.
Life is all about memories and that’s what #MoonpigMoments is all about. It’s about celebrating others, even if it’s under such strange circumstances. I can’t wait until this lockdown is lifted and social distancing is relaxed to the point that I can stay at my parents for the weekend. It’s the longest I’ve ever gone without seeing them and it’s definitely noticeable for me.
How are you celebrating Father’s Day this year? Let me know in the comments below!
