10 Essentials To Pack In Your Handbag

As brighter days are on the horizon with more lockdown restrictions lifting, it’s time to pack a few home comforts that we have been relying on for months into our trusty handbags. With that being said, here are ten essentials to pack in your handbag this year.

1) Hand sanitiser

We’re probably all sick of seeing the stuff, but sanitiser is this season’s hottest accessory to pack in your handbag. Whether you chose to carry it in traditional bottles, anti-bacterial wipes, or sprays – these nifty little cleaning products will keep you and your family protected all summer long. There are so many different scents and styles that there will be one that works for everyone. Anti-bacterial wipes can also be used to wipe down grubby tables before a meal or clean up little sticky hands after an ice cream on the beachfront.

2) Purse/wallet

It’s so easy now to forget your purse at home and just carry your bank card or rely on ApplePay but having a purse full of change is an absolute essential this summer! From parking to ice creams and late-night corner shop snack binges, you never know when you need cash. Plus, if you walk past the arcades and start to feel lucky, you already have some coins to play with and who knows what you might win?

3) Portable charger

Portable phone chargers are a lifesaver in the modern world. Not only can you plug in your phone to juice up on the go, but you can also connect tablets, iPads, and also camera batteries so you don’t have to miss out on any fun holiday snaps. As long as you have the lead for your device, you are good to go! Some portable chargers offer up to 6 full charges and have multiple USB ports so you can keep everyone fuelled up at once – and still have enough to keep the little one’s tablet alive whilst being stuck in traffic on the way home.

4) Disposable vape pens

Disposable vape pens provide a straightforward and convenient way to vape, with a streamlined discreet design, disposable vapes can be used without any fuss, leaking, or refilling required so they’re ready to use on the go! Disposable vape kits are great for everyone but especially perfect if you want to try vaping without the commitment. These devices are a fantastic option to use when travelling, on a night out, or to use whilst at work. Compact, sleek and they come in a variety of different flavours so they’ll be one for everyone.

5) Reusable bags

Reusable bags have been essential since shops began charging for plastic carrier bags. Aside from cradling your everyday shopping, you can use your reusable bags to re-home soggy clothes after a trip to the pool, carry your homemade picnic or collect rubbish after a day at the beach.

6) Food and drink

Snacks are always the answer, no matter the question. Whether they are for yourself, the kids, or the dog, snacks will always come in handy. If not to curb the hangry attitude but to save yourself some pennies when out and about. We’ve all experienced how expensive a pack of crisps or a chocolate bar can be so why not pre-empt your hunger and pack something budget (and waistline) friendly! The kids will thank you when they get to have an extra go on the Waltzers with the money you’ve saved.

7) First aid kits

First aid kits don’t need to be extensive or bulky. Plasters would always be at the top of the list for blisters, paper cuts, and scraped knees, followed by alcohol wipes to clean any nasty wounds and click heat packs for any sprains or swellings. Not to forget your treatment of choice for gnat bites and to curb hayfever.

8) Pen and notepad

No matter how old you are, you always need a pen. If it’s not to jot down everyone’s fish and chip orders or to write down the number of a local taxi firm, giving your kids a pen and paper to doodle with can turn something mundane into something fun. Tic tac toe, connect 4 and hangman are games that can pass the time no matter what the weather. For us adults, spending some time around the pool after breakfast with the morning paper and completing the crossword is one of life’s little pleasures that needs to be acknowledged more often.

9) Tissues

No matter what time of the year, tissues always come in handy. From taking care of those pollen-induced sniffly noses to wiping up spilled drinks, tissues are a small but mighty essential to pack in your handbag.

10) SPF

It’s always handy to bring your suncream out and about as it’s recommended that you re-apply your suncream after 2 hours (or beforehand if you go for a swim!) It’s something so easily forgotten but no one wants to be looking like a lobster the next day and deal with peeling skin for the next couple of weeks.

Hopefully, this list helps you pack the necessities. What things do you pack in your handbag? Let me know in the comments below.
