Ideas To Make Your Bedroom A Haven

Our bedrooms are our escape from everyday life. The stress, the hustle and bustle, and everything else that goes on. After a long day, we want to come to the comfort of our homes and be relaxed in our bedrooms where we can unwind and settle down for bed. A lot of people use their bedrooms as a place to feel safe, secure, to meditate, to recover when they are unwell as well as spending intimate time with the ones they love. It is so much more than just a room which is why we try to make it our own little haven away from the world. It is very personal for each person but here are some ideas on what you can change or add to your bedroom to help it feel more like a haven.

Lighting Is A Key Element

One of the important elements of a relaxed environment is the lighting. Lighting can really change the mood of a room and person in an instant. A bright and lighter room makes you feel active, awake, and alert, whereas a dimmer and soft light helps you feel more relaxed and peaceful. So look to incorporate different ways to dim the light. You could do this by having a dimmer switch so you can control the lights on the ceiling and are able to have them so they are not all the way on or off, just in the middle. You can also look to get lamps with warm light bulbs so it gives a cosy glow to the room. An added option is also to look at adding candles. Be sure to put these in safe places so they cannot be knocked over or can catch the light to things close by.

Storage Can Help A Room Feel More Organised

Something you wouldn’t initially think of is how you store things in the room. If you make sure your belongings are organised and stored correctly then it can help the room make you feel more relaxed. A messy and cluttered room can lead to a messy and cluttered mind. So if you need to reevaluate how you store your clothes you can look at Tylko’s wardrobes. If you need storage for your important papers you can add them to your desk. You can also take advantage of space unused in the room. A perfect example of this would be under the bed. You can get beds with built-in storage or you can also look at thin storage boxes with wheels that roll right under the bed. This will save you a tonne of space by putting things under there.

There are other things you can think about when making your room a haven. Art on the walls is very personalised, you can put images of your loved ones, art that makes you feel at peace, or even look at motivational and peaceful quotes that help you feel inspired. Make sure you put your touch and personality in the room through colours and decor.
