Concentrating is something that not everyone is particularly good at. Some people have more assertiveness with themselves and self-discipline to kick procrastination out and bring focus in.
However, if that sounds nothing like you, then it’s good to have some tips that will hopefully help you to concentrate more easily this year and beyond. Here are some helpful improvements you can make to do better with concentrating.

Reduce your distractions
Distractions can be a problem when you’re trying to improve your concentration levels. Depending on how often you find yourself procrastinating will likely determine how many distractions are currently in your workspace or on your mind.
A good thing to do at the start and at the end of the day is to do a mind dump. Get out everything you’re thinking about in your head so that you have it available to you, just not in your mind distracting you from the work that needs to get done.
Be sure to also reduce any distractions that exist in and around your workspace too. For example, you might want to lock the room you’re in to keep out other family members who are likely to cause distractions while you work. You may want to put a time blocker on certain sites so that you’re not tempted to browse.
Take a break
A break is a great way to improve your concentration, even though it sounds like a contradiction. It’s important to reset your brain and to step away from the computer to give yourself some time to switch off from what you’re doing.
Your concentration levels can be impacted if you’re spending too much time in front of the computer or otherwise focused on one task for too long of a period. Make sure to take a break!
Eat well
Eating well is going to help keep you in the best shape both physically and mentally. The better you eat, the healthier you feel. At the same time, you want to keep your food consumption in moderation to how much you should be eating every day.
There are certainly some brain-boosting foods that are worth eating and incorporating permanently into your diet. These include green vegetables, chia seeds, and fermented foods to name but a few.
Try cognitive training
Cognitive training can be helpful to improve your concentration whether it’s a problem in the workplace or at home. Just like you would work out other parts of the body, cognitive training helps work out the brain. Games like mahjong are good for memory and ultimately for keeping you focused during the game.
Mix up your tasks or activities to keep it interesting
Improving your concentration levels by mixing up tasks and activities will help keep it interesting. Sometimes the brain needs some variety when it comes to day-to-day activities. That way it keeps you from procrastinating.
Working on your concentration or your lack of concentration is great for helping this skill so that it benefits you in every facet of life.
