How To Get Into The Halloween Mood This Year

I was never really someone who enjoyed the autumn/winter weather, much preferring the wonderful warm summers that we get, maybe for a few days or weeks at best, here in the UK. However, since we’ve moved into our second property, which is now a house and has a lot more to work with, I’m finding myself getting super excited about going shopping for Halloween this year.

I’ve already got a checklist of everything I want to get, so I’m going to share some of the bits I’m planning to get for my home this year, and what might help you get into the Halloween mood.

Halloween Decor

B&M

Let’s start with the classic B&M. I feel like you don’t need to be spending extortionate amounts of money for what is maybe a bit of decor that you use for a month or two at most. So with that being said, there’s quite a lot of awesome stuff in B&M that I’m eying up and therefore putting on my list of goodies to purchase.

Who can resist a new mug? This I Put A Spell On Brew mug is iconic and the perfect coffee holder for when I have Hocus Pocus on repeat. The Halloween treat tub is going to go down well with handing out sweets, and I love these Freshly Baked autumn-scented candles, which are a steal at that price. The orange ceramic pumpkin is going to do wonderfully in our snug, and I love the stacked pumpkin plush that will probably go in our sitting room.

I’m probably going to get the sweets from here. I’m not sure what the trick-or-treating situation is like here in this new area we’re in, so I’m going to get a few bags, and if there’s not much action, at least I’ve got some sweets for myself for the next month.

Home Bargains

Home Bargains is another one of those reliable stores that I go into to get our logs for our log burner because they’re cheap and effective. For Halloween decor, they seem to have a good selection, so I’ll have to pop in to see what they have in our branch.

We have to get a few more doormats, so I thought, why not a Nightmare Before Christmas doormat? This cute little ghost doorstep has to go into my basket, as well as this Happy Halloween bunting. The Spooktacular cushion would sit nicely in our sitting room, and I love this LED spooky tree, which, to be honest, could go either in our kitchen or in our office.

The Range

The Range was something we discovered to my delight recently, and had I known it existed, I would have been there a lot sooner! We brought a lot of stuff for the home from The Range, so I’ll have to take a look at our local store to see if any of these delights are in there.

I love this beautiful sunflower garland, which I think would fit perfectly on our staircase bannister. We have a wooden one too, so it will definitely fit the colour well. The autumn wreath is beautiful, and I love the little pumpkins, so this would be a great fit for our front door.

The patterned leaf cushion and Hello Pumpkin cushion are a good style for the colour and type of sofa we have, and I love the pumpkin-themed wax burners. I love wax melts at the moment, and I have a lovely friend from college who makes her own, so I’ll be buying a stock of autumn scents soon.

The bathroom pumpkin mat is a must-have, and we’ll probably put the Hello Pumpkin doormat outside our front door. The embroidered pumpkin is really pretty, and I’d probably put this in my little one’s room. The pumpkin bedding, though, is chef’s kiss, and if I don’t find it in our local store, I might cry.

Amazon

It’s only right that Amazon is included on this list, as you can get virtually everything via this platform.  They have a really good mix of home decor and furnishings, so I think the below bits will round off my Halloween/autumn decor just nicely.

I love this autumn table runner, which is perfect for the next few months in the build-up to Christmas. The burnt orange cushions will be a good fit for our bedroom, as well as the trio of pumpkin cushions.

The pack of four autumn garlands will help me decorate the rest of the home, whether that’s to go on top of the table runner, on some of our window sills and the remainder of the staircase bannister on the landing.

This orange tartan-style throw is beautiful, and I’m tempted to get two, one for our snug sofa and one for our sitting room.

So that’s my selection of Halloween/autumn decor that I’m planning on hunting down at the end of the month. I’m holding myself back from making any purchases until payday this month because I want to fully enjoy the experience of decorating the home, while not doing it too early, so that the novelty wears off.

What do you think of this autumn/Halloween decor? Is it getting you into the Halloween mood? Let me know in the comments below.
