- Bangkok has the longest name of any city in the world – The full name of Bangkok is, Krueng Thep Mahanakon Amonrattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Nopparaht Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awathan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukham Prasit. The Guinness Book of Records acknowledges this as the longest city name in the world.
- Bangkok is the hottest city in the world – When mean temperatures are taken into account, Bangkok is the hottest city on the planet, which is hardly surprising. In an attempt to cool down, you might find a Japanese Teppanyaki in Bangkok at one of the top hotels.
- The Thai National Anthem is played publicly twice a day – At 8 am and 6 pm. Many establishments play the Thai National Anthem, and Thai people automatically stop what they are doing and stand at attention for the duration of the Anthem, and you are advised to do the same as a mark of respect.

- Green & yellow taxis are driver-owned – There are orange, pink, yellow and blue taxis, but the green/yellow combination depicts driver-owned taxis, which is worth knowing.
- The famous Red Bull drink originated in Bangkok – In the 1970s, a Thai entrepreneur invented Red Bull, and it didn’t take long for this energy drink to conquer the world. Now this drink is enjoyed all over the world, thanks to an amazing marketing campaign and F1 sponsorship.
- Bangkok is the most popular city for digital nomads – Online entrepreneurs flock to the City of Angels due to the low cost of living and great IT infrastructure. You can rent a luxury condo for a few hundred dollars a month, and life is cheap when compared to the West.
- Parts of Bangkok flood annually – At the end of October, rainwater comes down from the north and eventually pours into the Gulf of Thailand in Bangkok, which does cause temporary floods in areas near the Chao Phraya River.
