A Day Of Pampering At DMFA Academy!

What a day! πŸ˜€

I apologise for not daily blogging for a while but I’ve just been busy or haven’t felt like I’d done anything really significant to write it down on my blog. Thinking about it now though, I’ve actually done a lot so I’ll probably slip some of the stuff I’ve been up to in this blog near the end. So today, I had got myself booked into the DMFA Academy. I’ll leave the link to their website at the bottom of this blog. I arrived at the studio and was greeted by the lovely Tori who co-ordinated the course that these students were on. There was a model for every student and I was paired up with Alyssia who just so happened to have gone to Aberystwyth University! What a freaking small world we live in eh?!

After being paired up, Alyssia talked me through her idea of what she was planning to create. The idea was Elsa from Frozen but with a twist. This Elsa had frost bite (also I’m brunette and definitely wouldn’t have suited a blonde wig…) and the result was incredible. Alyssia was so welcoming and chatty and she’d always check to make sure I was okay throughout the whole make-over process. The whole day started from 10 and ended at around 3.30pm but for me, this day was just like a pampering experience. I love having my hair messed with and the special FX, using liquid latex to create gory looking third degree burns, was right up my street! Below is the finished result and I can’t wait to see the final photos that were taken by a very chatty photographer. I’ll be sure to post them up as soon as I get them.

I loved the make-up so much I really didn’t want to take it off. However, I think I would have got quite a few odd looks on the train if they saw me. Thank you so much Alyssia for a fantastic day and we’re definitely going to be staying in touch. I’ll always include all her social media sites down below so please do check her out!

Apart from today I’ve been taking part in a few other little projects such as a short student film and promotional video with a lovely group of guys at the University of Greenwich and it’s been really nice to network with people and met new people in general. Now all I need to do is get my business cards sorted so I can start handing them out to people!
