I’m sure a lot of you have gotten to a point where your hair has gone greasy but you don’t have time to wash it. Right? Well over the next few weeks I will be showing you a number of looks I’ve created or stole to give the illusion that your hair is as fresh as the day you washed it! This hairstyle is inspired by Kendall Jenner’s Faux Fringe Up Do which can be seen here.
Mine is very similar but I’ve added in a little twist, mainly because I have so much hair that it’s not possible for it to stay up in a bun on it’s own. (Ahh the struggles). So for this hair style you will need;
– Two clear elastic bands
– One thick hair band
– One thin hair band
– One headband of any kind
Start off by giving your well greasy mane a brush so that you can easily section off parts of the hair.
Then using a comb or just your hands, section off the top part of your hair so you’re left with two equal sections down the side.
Then tie the top section up with a thick hair band, giving it a pull so the hair is lifted up onto the top of your head.
After this is secure, focus on the two sections left by the side. Plait these any way you want (I did a simple plait) but if you want to be more creative go for a fishtail braid. Secure both sides with a clear elastic band. This will keep the plaits in place and are a little more discreet than using hair bands.
Then taking the top section of your hair, wrap this around itself to create a messy bun. You can use a doughnut at this point if you want to keep the bun neat, but I wanted a messy feel to it. You can always secure your bun down more with clips later if you’re not happy with the result.
Secure the bun with a thin hair band and then take your two plaits and one at a time, wrap the plait around the base of the bun, securing it as you go. Do the same with the other plait, making sure both are wrapped from around the front of the bun…if that makes sense?
Once they’re secured in place, take a headband to create an illusion of a fringe. Position it how you want and hey presto you’re done!
The whole hair style takes minutes once you’ve practised it and it’s a great look, especially for the Summer. No more greasy hair!
