EatClean – Matcha Green Tea

My first experience of drinking Matcha Green Tea was when I worked in a coffee shop back in Aberystwyth. It’s quite a bitter tasting drink that you can drink with hot water or with cold. It’s one of those versatile powders that can be used in pretty much anything. So when EatClean offered me the chance to try out their Premium Matcha Green Tea with mint, I decided to create my own Summer iced tea!

Here’s a little info about Matcha Green Tea

‘I started life as special green tea leaves from japan that were handpicked and stone ground into a

fine powder so you can ingest me, however you make me.

You see, brewing tea in the traditional way is kind of like making broccoli for dinner, boiling it in a

pan but throwing out the vegetable and just drinking the broccoli water. A bit silly really. Like with

green tea, you end up chucking 80% of the nutritional value and benefits into the bin.

You definitely want all 100% of my benefits, as matcha gives you long-lasting energy, boosts your

metabolism, aids fat burning, gives you beautiful, clear skin and detoxifies your body.’

To make this yummy Mint Matcha & Peppermint Green Tea, you’ll need:

  • Matcha & Mint EatClean Tea
  • Peppermint Teabags (x2)
  • Ice Cubes

The Matcha & Mint tea lasts for a month if you have two servings per day. The pack comes with a tiny spoon that allows you to use just enough and not too much. I then added a few ice cubes to the mix and filled it with around 250ml of cold water. I then brewed a mug of peppermint tea, using two teabags and left it to brew for around 2-3 minutes.

After leaving it to brew, I added the mixture to the blender and then blitzed it for a minute. I then poured the contents into a glass and added a few more ice cubes and water to fill it to the top.  Hey presto, it’s a super smooth iced drink to enjoy in the sunshine!

The Matcha Green Tea comes in various flavours including Original, Matcha & Mint and Matcha & Ginger. You can also buy a frother to blend any powder that you may have missed.
