Like the Autumn Tag, I knew that The Christmas Tag had to feature during my blogmas. I love a good Q&A style blog post as you get to know a blogger’s personality more. To be honest, any excuse to talk about the festive season is fine with me!
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie?
I have a few films that I watch religiously every year. Ive already watched two but my favourites are Home Alone, Jingle All The Way, The Grinch and The Polar Express. These are guaranteed to get me in the mood for Christmas. ‘Merry Christmas ya filthy animal!’
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
We’ve always opened our presents on Christmas morning. Mum has this tradition of handing out recycled Christmas cards every year which is met with a united ‘oh no, not this again‘ by me, my dad and my two brothers. Even our dog Maisie rolls her eyes in disapproval. We all secretly love it though.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
My favourite Christmas memory has to be when we first got a PlayStation. It’s pretty hard to believe that gaming and technology in general is still fairly new but I remember screaming alongside my brother with utter delight at getting what is now a very retro gaming system.
4. Favourite festive food?
Don’t hate me but I’ve grown a huge liking to brussel sprouts. If 13 year old me was reading this, she’d be totally grossed out. But your tastebuds change and Im going to be asking my dad to make an extra helping this year. Also we tend to have a lot of buffets in our household and over the festive period so I love a good pickled onion!
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I don’t really have a favourite Christmas gift as I’ve loved and have been grateful for everything I received over the years. I think one year I got a Furby and I remember being so happy to get one. I loved that Furby with all my heart! They do actually creep me out a little now though.
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Oh I do love spicy Christmas scents. My favourite would definitely have to be a spiced cinnamon or mulled wine fragrance. I love walking into our living room at the moment and smelling the spicy, warm aroma.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Every year for the past few years we’ve been to the cinema as a family. It’s the perfect opportunity to all watch something together without distractions. Myself and mum also like to have Baileys over Christmas as it’s our favourite festive tipple that we share.
8. What tops your tree?
I’m so excited this year that our housemate Sean had treated us to a REAL Christmas Tree! Sean had decorated the entire flat and waited until I got in from work so that I could place the red glittery star on top of the tree. At that exact moment, I started getting the festive feels!
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
There’s not really been anything extravagant that I’ve asked for Christmas and everything that I’ve asked for as a kid, I very luckily got. However everyone except my Dad wished for a few Christmas’ that we’d get a dog which we never did until one time when Dad had caved in and we got Maisie, a Yorkshire terrier. It wasn’t at Christmas though.
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Best part of Christmas for me is the build up and then actually seeing my family when I first get up to my hometown. It normally sparks the festive cheer between all of us and we end up cracking out some alcoholic beverages and either listening to Christmas music or watching a festive film!
