It’s completely normal to be thinking about where the summer has just gone – it was magnificently hot out of nowhere and gave us the chance to have a real summer this year and bring out our short denim shorts and of course show off that bikini body, all while sipping on deliciously refreshing cocktails throughout the day. – It’s been a good one, but all good things have to come to an end, and now it’s somehow October and we’re left unprepared and disorientated. Well don’t worry, you’re not the only one, and fortunately, we still have some extra time to pull ourselves together and transition into the Autumn in style.
You don’t necessarily need to go all out and spend hundreds on getting together a brand new wardrobe, there are subtle changes that can have a huge impact on what you’re wearing as well as how it makes you feel.
Here are some examples to get you on the right track.
Remember that although it may be a lot colder now, doesn’t quite mean it’s freezing – yet. So before you go out and get tones of jumpers, have a look at what you already have and think of ways to layer up as an extra warmth instead. For example, it may sound a little strange, but there’s nothing wrong with wearing tights underneath your jeans. In fact, make a point of cutting and distressing them yourself so that the tights can come through (the more colourful the better!) This will keep you warm, but make a unique statement piece that only you have.
Accessories are such a significant part to anyones look, and if chosen in the right way, you can take an outfit from zero to one hundred in a matter of seconds. Take watches, for example, you may not be someone that relies on a watch, and that’s fine, but maybe you should teach yourself to be. Depending on the style, they can add an air about you, be it class, trend, or luxuriousness. Watches like Michael Kors MK5774, in fact, give you all three, definitely making you a one to watch between you and your peers.
Clashing is a term used in fashion when you purposely pair colours up that don’t match, because you can. There are no rules to fashion, so just because someone may have once said that mustard yellow will never go with peacock teal, doesn’t mean that they were right. So stand out, be bold, and colour clash the way you want to. This fits in so well with Autumn too as the grungey colours are making a show for us, including burgundies, mustards, burnt oranges, and plum purples – these are all colours that were born to contrast between one another.
Now that you have a few ideas, you can have a look at what you already have at home, and how you can bring them through into this season, getting the most out of everything that you own. Now that’s fashion recycling for you.
