We’ve now lived in our OWN home for just over seven months now and I am more in love with it than I was when we first signed on the dotted line. It may be a small chunk of land in the most expensive city in the UK but this is our home and London is our city. But what’s next for our apartment? We’ve been adding bits of furniture slowly but surely because we wanted to fully enjoy the process by taking our time. Vinyline Graphics create bespoke acrylic graphics, which got me thinking about having art decor in our place.

I am though, lacking any form of generic art that doesn’t consist of family or friends and with so much wall space in our home, I really want to start buying some and putting them up creatively on the wall. I’ve already got a few pieces of vinyl wall art, one of Marilyn Monroe (iconic) and one of Elvis who reminds me of my granddad. Vinyl is a lot more durable than canvas or wood, which I the main appeal for many picking this material. It’s also easy to clean or wipe down if anything splashes against it.
So some of the ideas that I’ve been trawling through are below. We have quite a high headboard on our bed but I think this three-frame idea is really pretty. With our current theme being mustard yellow and grey, I wouldn’t want any more colour but I think the gold frames look really pretty. Perhaps I could have the generic ‘love, sleep, eat’ writing but then again, I want it to be unique and personal to me. I love doing it all of them though, don’t get me wrong.
We have plenty of wall space in the living room/dining room and spare room too. I have an office clock from Red Candy, that I’ve been wanting to put on the wall for ages. So I think that, with a bit of artwork around it, would look really nice in the spare room. I want to avoid over-cluttering it though as it isn’t a huge room.
For the living room and dining space, I think the selection of art which varies in sizes works really well and as we have high ceilings, we have a lot of surface area to utilise. Art really does show off your personality so don’t be afraid to reflect it in your own home. And as most of it isn’t permanent, you can take it down and replace it with something new!
If you’re not familiar with different artists or you haven’t been able to find something that stands out to you for a particular room, you might want to consider bespoke art options. Finding art that fits your needs, your wants, and your personal taste doesn’t have to be difficult when you work with the right people, and choosing bespoke pieces selected for you based on your own sense of style is a great way to showcase your personality in any room of your home/apartment.
