Ever since blogging became a big thing in my life, I’ve found it hard to balance and juggle everything all at once. With a full-time job, I’m coming home, sitting down in front of my computer and working until around midnight and sometimes later. That is certainly not helping my health and wellbeing in general because I’m really losing out on a proper sleep routine and I’m spending the majority of my working day hunched over a computer.
Allocate Time To Relax
I am a workaholic. I didn’t think I was because I love procrastinating and lazing around watching old episodes of The Great British Bake Off on Netflix. However, I love working and building up my blog and social media platforms. And because eventually, I want to take my blogging full-time, I’m conscious of slowing down. But I need to remember to look after myself and give myself time to relax. Whether this is binging on Netflix on the sofa, telling myself I’m taking the evening off or just indulging in a hot bubble bath with a glass of wine. I also need to tell myself not to feel guilty for relaxing.
Get More Sleep
I’m stupidly working at the moment until midnight and on some nights, even later. This really isn’t good for my health because I’m not getting enough sleep and my brain isn’t switching off immediately when my head hits the pillow. Then when I get up in the morning, my eyes are dry and I’m tired. I think this will go hand in hand with relaxing as I need to make sure that I’m getting the early nights during the weekday in and for that to happen, I need to give myself some evenings off. So a solid eight to nine hours sleep is what I’m going to try to aim for at least once or twice a week.
Re-introduce A Skincare Routine
Boy oh boy has my skincare taken a bashing. The combination of no exercise, no water and lack of sleep has seriously dried out my skin and at the same time, produced a number of breakouts and oily skin. It’s dull and has no healthy glow at the moment which is upsetting. I’ve also stopped with my skincare routine which I’d started around a year ago. However, now is the time to keep my skin hydrated and healthy. So I’m going to re-introduce a skincare routine and also look at beauty clinics like 23MD Cosmetics where I could possibly get a few non-invasive treatments to help give my skin the boost it needs.
Drink Plenty Of Water
As I get older, I’m realising the importance of drinking water and how it contributes to my body. Without it, it’s contributing to the sluggish feeling and as I’m also drinking more coffee, the lack of water in my body is definitely noticeable. I’m going to get myself a proper water bottle (ones with the plastic tube straw) to encourage me to drink more water on a daily basis. Sure I’ll be going to the toilet more but it’s worth it if I have my water going into my body. It’s amazing the difference it can make!
Get Back To The Gym
When I was at my healthiest, I was working out at the gym three times a week. It got harder to keep this up because, around this time, my blog started to pick up. And then the blog work has quickly taken over every spare moment I have available. However, I’m lacking energy at the moment and this isn’t helping me when I want to be able to function as a human being. So I’m going to get myself back to the gym so that I can lose the weight I want to lose in time for my wedding and more important the wedding dress shopping. I’m also possibly looking into treatments like coolsculpting and various other beauty procedures that can help aid fat loss around the areas that are harder to shift.
