I love the idea of working from home. I find 9-5 work a little mind-numbing and I think I’d find working my own hours would lead to me being more successful in my freelance and blogging work. This year is the year that I’ll be working from home full-time and I’m so excited to get started on this next chapter of my life. I definitely have good vibes about the whole career move and that with all the extra hours I’ll have, it’ll mean I can spend more time focused on the blog and launching my second blog Tilly & Rouge. Making money from home is now easier than ever and if you have access to the internet, pretty much anyone can do it.
Start A Blog
I thought I’d start off with something I know very well. Starting a blog is something that has become a little saturated, with plenty of people trying their hand at it and giving up after a few months. Like anything, if you want it to be successful, you need to put in the hours. My blog is nearly five years old and only in the last two years have I made money from it. It’s not a quick and easy solution if you want to start working from home today though. However, saying that, after only running my blog for a few months, I managed to get a few product review opportunities. Who knows, maybe you’ll have better luck than me and get some paid work straight away. My tips for starting a blog would be to purchase a domain, buy a professional webpage design and be consistent with high-quality content.
Fill In Online Surveys
When I first moved down to London, I would fill in online surveys in return for a little bit of extra cash. There are plenty of websites that offer this service and if you’re motivated enough to fill in a lot of them, you’ll likely make a few hundred pounds per month. Online surveys are vast and therefore, you’ll likely be suitable for a variety and put forward for loads. Be wary though that in the initial stages, some will ask you questions to check you are the right fit for what they’re after.
Test Websites
With the internet being such a big place, there’s a demand for website testers. Testing Time is a good site to use and all you need is an internet connection and Skype. It’s a case of testing the functionality of a website and looking for error pages and things that just don’t work. It’s not for everyone but you can earn up to £60 an hour from just playing around with websites. I’d say that’s not too bad an offer?
