Why My Future Garden Needs Decking

– SPONSORED CONTENT –

It’s surprising to me that I’m already ready to move house. I think it’s because this first property of ours was always going to be an investment property and wasn’t a place that I could see myself bringing up a family in. As we fill the apartment, the space becomes a little more restrictive and therefore it gets less spacious. For me, our next property needs a garden and it needs decking.Garden

Anyone who has decking in the garden, I’m always envious of. We have a communal garden so even though it’s beautiful, it’s not private. A lot of celebrities and influencers that I follow on Instagram are starting to enjoy their gardens more now as the sun comes out and the decking in a garden really adds another level. With businesses like Decks and Docks Lumber Company, the scope for installing decking is limitless.

A Social Space

A decking area will normally sit the outside lounging area, whether that’s in the form of a corner sofa or sun loungers. I think the dream would be to have a hot tub and I know my partner Sam would totally be on board with it. I think having a separate area of the garden where it’s the focus is creating a social space where everyone can chill out and relax is great. I just want it to be like an outdoor living room!

More Reason To Get Outdoors

One thing that I’m looking forward to is sitting out in the garden, perhaps having my laptop with me while I do some work or alternatively, lounging around and reading a book. I definitely think that having an outdoor space that’s attractive is going to help you spend more of your time outside, rather than what’s currently the case with me being stuck inside. For the time being though, I’m definitely going to take my laptop outside and hotspot it to my phone so I can at least enjoy some of the sunshine.

It’s A Pleasing Aesthetic

You have to admit that decking can really make for a wonderful appearance in any garden and it does feel like an extension to your property. I think when we do get decking, it would be lovely have some outdoor lights and even a fire pit to really give that cosy feeling to it so that we would spend more of our time outdoors during the evening too.

It’s all very exciting but moving is something we won’t be doing until we’re married, so bring on 2021! Do you have decking in your garden? Let me know in the comments below.
