I always have those little pinch-me moments when blogging and this is one of them. The Denmark watch designers Nordgreen gifted me this gorgeous number from their collection. The Nordgreen Native Watch comes in a variety of colours and I chose the brown one because I’m so typical when it comes to things like watches and handbags – I tend to go for brown. Now I don’t actually own many watches. In fact, this is the second watch that I now own. Sam has started to build quite the collection which led to me buying him a watch box – that he still hasn’t used yet). For me though, when I get a watch, I will wear the crap out of it. But in a bad way, like I’ll forget to take it off whilst doing the dishes or jumping in the shower. Obviously, you don’t want to do that with a watch, especially when the straps are leather. I have kind of destroyed my other watch so this one has come at the perfect time.
Coming in at £144, the price is pretty typical of these independent brands. What I love is that it’s affordable but there’s quality there and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. The minimalistic design is very much what I would expect of a Scandinavian style. The face size is perfect and I love the stitching down the sides of the watch. The Nordgreen logo sits on the face but it’s also on the clasp which is an extra touch that has not gone unnoticed. You can get plenty of different strap colours and it’s versatile enough that you can chop and change them whenever you want.
The designer of these watches is a chap called Jakob Wagner who is a renowned Danish designer who has run his studio for a good 25 years. So this guy certainly knows his stuff and I mean, you need to check him out. He just oozes creativity and I love his style.
