Another tradition of mine that I love doing both in the winter time and especially around the Christmas holidays is to drink my entire body weight in Hot Chocolate. There’s something about powdered Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate that I just love. I used to actually eat in the powdered form by the spoon, which is very naughty and now I can’t really do with my metabolism. Also they’ve changed the way it’s made in that I think they’ve added more granules of sugar instead of just it being powerded and so it doesn’t taste the same. ANYWAY – back to the reason for this post. There’s not really much reason for it, I was going to make it into a recipe post, but there’s not real recipe to it. I mean – nothing.
However, I did think a few delicious-looking photos would be appreciated and so I decided to take a few snaps of the hot chocolates that I’ll be consuming non-stop during the month. Marshmallows and whipped cream are pretty much the standard accompainment to the humble hot chocolate, are they not? That gooey effect that the marshmallows have when eating them after they’ve been dunked into the hot liquid is JUST SO GOOD.
I also got a Lemon Meringue Hot Chocolate from Whittard‘s earlier on this year and OMG, it tastes so good. I’m about 3/4 of the way down it so I definitely think I can finish it off for Christmas. Hot Chocolate is just a staple winter warmer for me, not just around Christmas but for the rest of the winter. I become a bit of a hermit over this time of the year because who wants to go out and spend time in the cold?!
Myself and Sam are going to have a festive night in soon where we can just kick back, relax and watch a festive movie with a hot chocolate. We’ve got such a busy December, with two weddings and then travelling back and forth all over the Christmas period. I am looking forward to the day where we’ll spend Christmas without having to travel anywhere!
This post is giving me all the festive vibes right now and as I’m writing this I’m half-way through a hot chocolate. So whether you choose the traditional Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate Powder or something a little different, indulge as much as you want!
Is the humble Hot Chocolate your favourite Christmas drink? Let me know in the comments below.
