Christmas nails are something that I really looked forward to doing this year because over the past year I’ve been treating myself to acrylics and gel nails. I think it’s a great way to get a little bit of self-care into my life and just to give myself a little pamper every now and then. This year’s Christmas nails, I wanted them to be glittery obvs.
I get my nails done at Mia Nails in Covent Garden. It’s a small shop that used to be a 10 minute walk (if that) from where I used to work and even though now I work from home, I still make the commute into London to get them done. At the moment, there’s always something to have as an opportunity to get them done before, whether it’s an event or seeing friends.
When I was picking the colours, I chose either a Christmas glitter, letterbox red red and then this rose gold blush glitter. When looking at the second one, I thought it might look really pretty with an ombre/faded effect. So after much deliberation, I went with the rose gold. And I am SO pleased with how it looked. The lady suggested I got from bottom towards the top but I wanted it to be at the tips, going down.
These festive nails are going to go so nicely with everything I’ve got planned to wear over Christmas. With the red, as beautiful as it was, some of my outfit choices for the Christmas party and the weddings that I have this month, it just wouldn’t go.
Getting my nails done is a real treat, especially as I was and probably still am a nail biter. However, there’s no way that I can attack my nails because they are always covered by either acrylics or gels. It’s one of the little luxuries that I have in my life and I always look forward to getting them done each time.
