It can be hard to plan for the future as this Coronavirus plagues so many countries around the world. Everywhere we turn, there’s a new news story or an update on just how much this virus is destroying people’s lives. However, we must have hope and that hope can come in the form of planning ahead. So whether you do any of these during isolation or once this all blows over, I hope this relaxing weekend post will help bring a bit more positivity to the situation we’re all currently facing.
Unwind At A Spa
We were meant to do this as a backup to Sam’s birthday (we were meant to go to Milan) but that got cancelled too as the scale of the lockdown quickly escalated throughout last week. When it comes to a relaxing weekend, a spa break can be a perfect way of unwinding and letting the stress of work life, just ebb away. If you’re looking for spa breaks, Yorkshire has some beautiful ones and there’s a lot of beautiful scenery to look out onto in this neck of the woods. I absolutely adore a spa trip and I’ll always treat myself to a treatment. Even if it’s a little pricey, it’s worth splurging a little or a lot on yourself every so often. It’s important to reward yourself often and I think we all deserve a spa break once this virus thing is finally over.
Bubble Bath & Wine
If the spa is something you can’t afford right now, then I understand. What better way to bring the spa to you than with a big glass of wine and a bubble bath. Be wary of how much you drink mind. Warm water and a red wine combination isn’t recommended for too long. There’s nothing like a warm bath though, unless you’re that person who finds it disgusting that we’re essentially bathing in our own dirt. Ok Karen, but you’ve probably stepped out of the shower and dried your body with a day old towel that’s covered in all manner of germs. Pipe down. Grab a book or stick your favourite tv series on your ipad or phone and watch it from a distance. Remember electronics and water don’t play nicely together. Then, put on your favorite womens pyjamas and have the ultimate relaxation night.
Start A Book
I keep telling myself this literally every week but I must start a book at some point. I think this weekend coming is going to be a great opportunity to start one but also to work on writing my own. When it comes to relaxing, we all have a different view of what that looks like and what it involves. For me, writing relaxes me, whereas, for someone else, that might be their idea of hell. You do you, babe. There’s a few I’ve been meaning to start, one of which is The Handmaid’s Tale.
Try Your Hand At Knitting
And finally, one of my favourite things to do at the moment is to knit. I got a big bundle of goodies from LoveCrafts, which I’m planning on making my way through this isolation period. It’s a great way of helping to relax and to completely distract the mind from anyone that’s going on out there in the world. A thing that’s needed more many of us at the moment.
So hopefully these tips help you to have a relaxing weekend this coming weekend, even if you might not be able to do everything – like leaving the house. Let me know what you’re doing with your free time in the comments below.
