My Signature Scent | DKNY Be Delicious

I’m a creature of habit sometimes and when it comes to perfumes and fragrance, I tend to stick to the same thing. Having a signature scent is something I find very comforting. My partner Sam has the same body spray and aftershave that he’s worn since we meet and my parents are the same too. I’m not someone who owns a dozen different fragrances because I just can’t be bothered to find something else as I’m happy with the fragrance I have – DKNY Be Delicious.

DKNY Be Delicious

I’ve had this perfume consistently since I was a teenager. It’s a sickly sweet scent that’s citrusy sweet, rather than being too overpowering. What I love the most though is the packaging and that it’s shaped like an apple. I’m easily pleased when it comes to packaging, as long as it looks good and feels good then I’ll always be willing to give the product a go. The mirrored top and the easy push button that releases the scent is certainly something I love about the bottle itself and it tends to last a long time.

For me, the DKNY Be Delicious fragrance is an affordable option when it comes to perfume and although I don’t wear it every day, it’s always on me when I’m out and about. I usually buy this from an airport as it tends to run out near a time where me and Sam are traveling. My mum got me the DKNY Golden Delicious which was nice and aesthetically as far as the packaging went, very pleasing. However, it just didn’t compare for me when it came to the original scent. The cost of the fragrance is usually around £40.00 to £74.00 depending on the ml size but you can also get it cheaper if you do a bit of hunting around online.

Applying a fragrance is different for everyone but I learnt that when you’re spraying it onto your wrist and then wiping it with your other wrist, it almost damages the scent’s full potential. I don’t know whether that’s fully true but now when I’m applying it, I’ll always just spray and let it dry of it’s own accord. I also like to spritz some over my clothing and a little bit over my hair too. I know some people like to spray it into the air and then walk through it but I’m likely going to get it in my eyes or mouth by doing that. Yes that might seem clumsy but clumsy tends to be my middle name at times.

So will I have opt for a different fragrance? Maybe. I have shopped before for Jo Malone scents for my mum and also my nan. However, I’ve never bought my own and so I think for my next birthday I might treat myself to a scent from their collection. I know – shocking. I think I’m drawn to Jo Malone not because of the luxury aspect but because the scents can differ and you’re basically customising the scent  by choosing one that suits you best.
