The pandemic is something that isn’t enjoyable for many at the moment. There’s people losing family members and having to stay inside for so long without much physically social contact is tough. Even though I have Sam, I’m still missing my friends and family because online video calls and phone calls don’t cut the mustard. And I hate mustard. So if you’re looking at finding ways to cheer your loved ones up, then here are some ideas that you might find worth doing to help everyone you love during this pandemic. Also I’m putting a photo below of my friends from last year because I miss them.

Send Them A Gift
Gifts are a great opportunity to show someone that you care and for some people who are still earning and saving money, it’s a small gesture that you can make to those who need a little pick me up. F Hinds does some beautiful gold jewellery and it doesn’t need to be anything too big of a gesture. Even if you small budget and sent a gift that would be funny to them, it shows your friend or family member that you’ve taken the time to think about them.
Write Them A ‘Pen Pal‘ Style LetterÂ
Did anyone else have a pen pal when they were young? I need to have a look through my memory box because I used to have a pen pal years ago and I feel with modern technology I could scan social media to see if they pop up. It was a great way of being able to connect with someone and I think going back to pen pal letters are so cute. If you’ve got a few friends or family members that you want to cheer up, then get a pen, paper and envelope. The postal service is still in operation and even if it’s delayed, it’s still going to get to them eventually.
Throw A Quiz Or Themed Virtual Party
We’ve all likely been catching up with friends and family during this time in isolation, so throwing a quiz or a themed virtual party will be a bit of a change to the typical facetiming or zooming you might be doing at the moment. You could start off the theme or be the quiz master and then take it in turns over the coming weeks. Who knows how long we’re going to be in lockdown for?
Utilise Social Media To Catch Up With Others
Social media is always going to be a great way to catch up with friends and family. With that in mind, make sure you’re on social media more in terms of connecting with friends and family. Stay away from the news as too much can be triggering for all of us. Catch up with old friends, family and even those you have spoken to in a while. Make this an opportunity to reconnect where you can.
So if you’re looking at cheering someone up, do it today!
