Your bedroom should be a place of zen – somewhere you go to forget about the troubles of the world and get some sleep. But the realities of modern life mean that it rarely winds up looking like that. Often it seems like a tornado hit it, with clothes all over the floor and mess on the vanity. Bedrooms often wind up looking like a dump because they’re not on public display. Most people who come over to your home don’t go to the bedroom, so you don’t feel pressure to tidy it. You focus on the rest of the house and then leave your slumber chamber to its own devices. That’s just the way it goes, sometimes.

If your bedroom looks like a dump, don’t despair, though. It turns out that there are all sorts of things that you can do to make it look great.
Put All Your Clothes In A Laundry Basket
Dirty clothes are a problem. You don’t want them strewn all over the floor. But equally, you don’t want to put them back in your drawers either with all your clean stuff. So what’s a girl to do? The best solution here is to use a basket of some kind to store it all temporarily until the time comes to do the washing. A wicker basket with a closable cover is ideal.
Chuck Out All Your Rubbish
Rubbish is a big problem in the bedroom. It builds up quickly, especially if you use the room for getting ready in the morning. Put away anything you can still benefit from, and then get rid of the trash. Grab some bin liners if you need to, and just go around, throwing everything out that you don’t need.
Remove Unnecessary Furniture
Bedrooms are often a tight squeeze when chock full of furniture, leaving you less space for everything else. Inevitably, you wind up throwing clothes on the bed, which wind up on the floor when you get into it. Some people throw out all their excess furniture, but you don’t have to. As All In Self Storage describes on its website, you have multiple off-site storage options – great if you’re planning on moving to larger accommodation in the future. Just store furniture that’s getting in the way away from your home temporarily and then save your money until you can move.
Clean The Floor
Being able to see your floor is a big plus in the bedroom. It makes you feel like it’s a proper room, instead of a glorified cupboard where you keep your clothes and occasionally sleep. Remove all the junk and find a place for everything. It’s a challenge, but if you have a basket for your laundry and drawers for your hairdryer and curlers, it should be fine.
Wash Your Bedding
Bedding sets the mood for the entire bedroom. If it smells stale from weeks of sweat and flaking skin, it will not inspire you to keep the place tidy. Wash your sheets once per week if you can, and change them regularly. It’ll make you feel a lot better about the room as a whole.
