It’s been a while since I’ve written about my own personal life on here, rather than writing blog posts about generic things. For those who don’t know, I’m on Tiktok – you can follow me here. And not surprisingly, Tiktok is the latest social media platform to go viral. I think it’s because we all love video content and when it’s in bite-sized chunks of 15-30 seconds, it’s more enjoyable than watching a 30-minute video. As my Tiktok platform has been growing, YouTube is something that I would love to get back into because as much as the editing process can be a bit of a nightmare, I did love filming videos. The only thing I’m trying to figure out right now, is what people like watching on YouTube? I also need to do a bit of a revamp of my social media designs on YouTube so that I have a professional look to my platform for when I start promoting it on YouTube and beyond. And that’s where Font Bundles comes into play. I’ve always stressed the importance of fonts and brand consistently when it comes to running a business. It’s something I’m trying to do more of where I can too.

For YouTube, I’m wanting to keep the design pretty similar when it comes to the hand-written style but I would like to get a bit more creative with colour or maybe any icons/images that I used within the logo too. I think eye-catching designs and good thumbnails are essential nowadays so that they stand out to anyone who comes across a video. It’s something that’s similar to Tiktok too in that you can now add various text and images to your thumbnail/cover photo so that it looks more clickable. When creating designs for anything, whether it’s YouTube thumbnails, Pinterest or images for my blog, I want to focus on having a bit more consistently. Font Bundles is a platform where you can play around with hundreds and thousands of font styles to create your own unique style for whatever it is you are using it for. Whether a YouTube channel or blog is a hobby or your full-time career, it’s still good to aim for a level of professionalism.
As you can see below, I experimented with a few designs and until now, I’ve always asked for the services of others to create a logo. The problem with that is that I then don’t know what font they’ve used. With Font Bundles, you can choose between a range of free and premium fonts, knowing you’ll never forget the font you used because it’s something that I’ll have downloaded forever. Off the bat, I definitely think the Danghki is the best font for what I’m going for and combined with my cartoon version of myself that you can see above, I think it goes well together. I would love to get an animated version for my YouTube channel when I start it up, but for now, I think this will go well on my blog as well as any other social media handles.
Designing On Pinterest
If I had more hours in the day, I can only imagine how much more I’d get done. However, that’s not the case! I would like to get around to promoting back on Pinterest again because I think it’s a great platform for promoting your content on your blog and even for platforms like Tiktok & YouTube also! Below are just a couple of examples of Pinterest pins that I’ve created. I definitely still like the design I use on the right but I think it needs more consistently with the font, which I think the one on the right provides but there’s too much blank space going on in that one. I love the fact that the photo takes up the whole page, which I think looks better.
Pinterest is such a great platform for building your profile as a business or simply as a hobby. See it basically as another search engine like Google and you can really drive some traffic towards your blog because of it. I have been using Pinterest now for a while and when I was promoting pins, I got up to nearly a million views per month. If I could just get back to posting regularly, I’d probably see a big increase in my viewership on my blog.
It’s hard when it comes to designing your branding for anything you do in life, whether it’s for a hobby or as a business. This is something you see pretty much every day and so it’s easy enough to get bored of looking at the same fonts and images. That’s why this time around, I want to spend more time focused on creating brand consistency across all my channels, whatever that may be.
Growing My Tiktok
I think I’m going to keep going with my Tiktok because it’s definitely helping grow my social media presence across other platforms. With Font Bundles, there’s so much variety to choose from whether you want tattoo fonts or more dainty styles of writing. Your font can really say a lot about your personality but it’s also important for it to be viewable. The last thing you want is to start creating some awesome content but no one can read it properly because you chose the wrong font for your writing.
I am always grateful for everything that the online world has given me. It has helped me create a business from scratch and with very little investment on my part in terms of finances. It continues to surprise me and I’m excited for what the future holds for UpYourVlog. There’s so much available online and via social media, so it’s great to take advantage of what’s possible.
