Sentimental Jewellery | Astley Clarke

I often don’t wear a lot of jewellery but when I do, I love wearing gold. Gold hoops, gold rings, and thanks to Astley Clarke, gold necklaces. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with Astley Clarke on their range of beautiful range of lockets. Lockets themselves are fairly old-fashioned but I love the idea of putting a memory inside a piece of jewellery and wearing it around some part of your every day. I picked out the Deco White Sapphire Cosmos Locket Necklace in Yellow Gold Vermeil and suffice to say, I’m obsessed.

With a price tag of £150.00, it’s one of those extra-special gifts for anyone that’s looking for a piece of jewellery that’s not too expensive that it outprices the average buyer. There’s a lot of designer jewellery out there but this one offers the same quality and craftsmanship as some of the top jewellery chains you’ll find on the high street.

My favourite part about this necklace is the option to add in a photo. Whilst the size of the locket itself doesn’t offer the greatest amount of space, I was surprised at how clear the image of myself, my partner and our fur baby Ronnie, came out.

Excuse the acrylics that needed infilling at the time but how cute is this? It was a photo that I and Sam captured with Ronnie when he was a young pup and at the height of summer, it was a lovely snapshot that has become a core memory as a family of three.

I love everything about this locket. The chain is thin and light which is the perfect combination in my opinion when it comes to necklaces. I don’t like anything too chunky or heavy. However, the locket itself is surprisingly weighty which is likely due to the 18-carat yellow gold plated sterling silver it’s made out of. The hexagon shape is something fairly unique to other pieces of jewellery that I own and I love the cultured white sapphire that surrounds the entire circumference of the locket itself.

It’s a real keepsake piece of jewellery and one that since receiving, I’ve worn every day. Not just because it’s beautiful – that’s obvious. No, it’s also because taking it off and getting back on with acrylic nails is honestly the most challenging thing in the world.

When it comes to meaningful pieces of jewellery, both my parents have necklaces that they wear pretty much every day. This is now the piece of jewellery that I’ll wear every day. I also know it would look lovely on my wedding day too.

I urge you to take a look at Astley Clarke’s full range of lockets which you can find here. They do a beautiful collection of lockets but their jewellery, in general, is all going on my want list for future birthdays and Christmas presents!
