Plan Everything

One of the best things you can do is to plan every single aspect of your move. Work out:

  • When you’re moving
  • How much time do you have to move
  • How many boxes you’ll need
  • When you need to hire floridacouriers.com
  • Where you’re going to put all of your furniture in your new place
  • How much you’ll need to spend on the move

As soon as you have all of the above planned, your move will be much easier. You will be less stressed as will those you are moving with.

Label Everything

When it’s time to start packing, make sure you have a lot of labels with you. You will need to label everything. You could be tempted to throw things in boxes and hope you can find things on the day of the move. However, this could be a huge mistake. Label every box so you know what it contains. You don’t need to list the contents of the box. Simply write “Kitchen 1” or “Kitchen 2”, so you know what’s in the box.

Pack As Soon As Possible

  • Packing is not a lot of fun and it’s not very easy. Start packing as soon as possible.
  • Ideally, you will start packing at least 2 months before you move.
  • Pack those items you won’t need until after you’ve moved, then start packing everything else.
  • The sooner you start, the less stressful packing will be.

Do One Room At A Time

Start by packing one room at a time, specifically the rooms you don’t use very often. For example, pack up the spare room, the attic, and the dining room.

Pack an Overnight Bag

Always pack an overnight bag so you’ll have everything you need on the day of the move. Pack an overnight bag even if you’re only moving to the other side of town. Place the following items in the bag:

  • Medication for you and those you’re moving with
  • A change of clothes and shoes for everyone
  • Food for the day
  • Your kid’s favorite toys
  • A book or e-reader
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.
  • Pet food, toys, and medication
  • Cell phones and chargers and other devices

Pack those items that will make life easier if you have access to them. When you do, you’ll have to spend less time searching for those things you really need.

Use the above tips to help you make moving house less stressful. When you do, you’ll find that the move is much easier than you thought. Start working on the house-moving process now so you know you’re ahead of the game. Who said that moving home couldn’t be an enjoyable experience? Happy moving!
