How To Make Your Holidays Luxurious In 2023

A luxury holiday sounds like the absolute dream for us right now. The tail end of 2022 wasn’t the ideal ending for the year. We got married – which was incredible, and it all went downhill. A car crash and a near-death experience for our young pup meant we also had to cancel our honeymoon to the Maldives. Suffice it to say, we ended the year waving goodbye with eagerness.

That means at some point, we’re going to rebook our honeymoon so we can get away again. This also means we want a luxury holiday abroad somewhere, whether that be the Maldives or elsewhere. With that said, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to share with you, my readers, my thoughts on what would be the best option to make your holidays more luxurious in 2023.

If you’re looking to make your holidays more luxurious this year, here are some top tips that are going to take your holidays – or vacations if you’re an American reader – to the next level.

Book a driver to and from the airport

If you’re someone who loves to travel in style, a focus should be spent on how you get to and from the airport. Having a taxi or private car pick you up from your home and drop you off at the airport is a luxurious option that many will opt for, especially if the travel time to the airport is early doors or in the middle of the night.

There are services that offer this through companies but you’ve also got popular taxi providers like Uber and Bolt in the cities, which can be ideal for pre-booking rides.

Treat yourself to an airport lounge

I absolutely love going into an airport lounge before flying and it’s something I’d definitely want to do when going away this year. In April, we’re travelling to New York and so I’d love to book the airport lounge to give ourselves a more luxurious experience as a result.

The perks of an airport lounge are great and it’s worth the £30-£50 you spend on it. Not only do you get a seat to relax in but you’ll be able to take full advantage of free food and drink before the flight. The food offered is substantial and if you’re paying for airport food and drinks, you’ll likely be spending more in the general dining areas than you would when paying for a lounge pass.

Use airline rewards for upgrades

There are lots of airlines that offer reward flights, points, and other perks to entice customers to fly with them rather than their competitors. This is something you should be taking full advantage of when it comes to luxury. Some airlines might offer discretionary upgrades for those who ask to be upgraded to first-class or business. Others may get a discount on their seats which can help save money and put it towards activities while abroad.

We’ve got Virgin air miles which we’re looking to cash in on when it comes to our trip in April but we’ve also got plans to use it further down the line too.

Stay in a luxury resort and go all-inclusive

Finally, make sure you stay somewhere special when it comes to accommodation. After all, this is likely the most important part of the trip. If you’re someone who loves lounging – like myself and my husband – luxury hotels in Greece offer all that you’ll need. I love to spend a lounging holiday within a resort that has everything you could need and more. Not only that, but why not go all-inclusive? Spend that extra bit of money to get unlimited food and drink. It’s luxurious yes but it’s also cost-effective, especially when you have fussy children and adults.
