Four Ways To Learn From Home This Year

2Seeing as we’re all probably going to be locked down again this winter, we’re going to spending all this time and home and it can get quite boring for some. As a result, it might be a good idea to think about how you could utilise this time effectively and to learn something new. During the lockdown earlier on in the year, I got my head around knitting and I love it. I’m definitely going to treat myself to some for Christmas so I can finally get around to knitting myself a throw for the sofa. Here are four ways to learn from home this year to inspire you during this weird period in time.

Try Long-Distance Learning Courses

There are so many online courses out there to take advantage of nowadays and it’s something you could easily work around your 9-5 job as most are working from home anyway. Distance Learning Centre is one of those online providers that offer long-distance learning courses from a range of topics. Choose from wellbeing, fitness, and beauty courses to mental health and behavioural studies. It’s something worth doing, especially for those looking to better their skillset or find something to do while on furlough or out of a job.

Join Online Communities

Online communities are widely available across social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. They can relate to anything and everything, including groups that help teach others about various topics or a specific hobby. I’m part of a few communities regarding my blogging and freelancing but I also recently signed up to one for Tiktok. This can be a great way of meeting like-minded people and creating new friendship groups local to you or virtually.

Watch YouTube

YouTube has become a huge platform for many people to use to watch their favorite content creators or to get lost down a rabbit hole of content. I’ve found myself doing it recently, watching a particular crime all about criminal interview footage and the psychology behind their behaviour and the process which is actually really interesting. It’s worth exploring YouTube yourself and checking out what educational content there is available depending on what sort of topics interest you.

Experiment

Learning a new skill or hobby can sometimes take time and often enough, it’s usually through experimentation or trial and error that we find solutions or success. With that being said, it’ss worth experimenting with whatever you’re trying to learn. You might find that it takes a bit of experimenting on your part to get it right. For example, coming back to the knitting, I had to trial and error the right stitch patterns until I got it right.

What do you think you’ll get around to learning during this autumn/winter period? Let me know in the comments below what you want to learn from home.
