Brewers Home – Designers Guild Candle

Brewers Home is an online Aladdin’s cave for all things homeware. Located in Eastbourne, I was given the opportunity to browse and then choose a product from their range of candles. Now for anyone who knows me, I’m a little obsessed with candles. If I had more money, I think I’d create a whole box full as storage for when I need more. The prices are fairly moderate but you’re paying for luxury candles that are going to smell and look incredible in your home. I received the Amber Forest Candle that burns for around 45 hours. It came packaged in a big box with plenty of inflated plastic and bubble wrap to keep it well protected.

The candle is from Designer’s Guild which was founded by Tricia Guild in 1970. It’s an international luxury brand, best known for their floral designs and use of colour. All their wallpaper, fabrics and home accessories are hand-painted here in London. The candle I received had a turquoise and white haze, with the Designer’s Guild logo printed along the bottom.

It’s a lavish woody scent. Described as having ‘delicate citrus top notes‘ that lead to a floral heart and has a rich base, combining ‘precious amber and vetivert’. It’s definitely a fresh smell and I can definitely pick up it’s woody scent. The only downside to the candle is that the scent when burning isn’t as strong, which is a little disappointing. The price of the candle is £28.

The rest of the website offers a range of furniture and some of my favourite pieces are the gorgeous bookcases, that would certainly be packed full to the brim with books in my flat.

These sorts of colours would go perfectly in a children’s room too as they are mostly neutral. I also love the corner sofas that they have on offer. Again neutral colours, but they’d work perfectly against most wallpapers and flooring. I’ve always been a fan of corner sofas and they’ll certainly be in my house (when I own one).

Probably the best fabrics that they have on there to suit anyone’s tastes, are the wallpapers. Ranging from floral, to animals, vintage and embossed, there’s a wallpaper to suit everyone. Brewers Home acts as a host for all different brands to advertise on one website, making your shopping a little easier. Brands include Laura Ashley, Anthology, Harlequin and Wedgwood Home. Brewers Home is open 7 days a week if you’re the type of person who wants to physically feel or see a product. If you’re near Eastbourne, then be sure to check out the store, otherwise the online store is always available too!
