If you’re like me then I’m practically jumping for joy at the fact that Summer is just around the corner and the sun is showing no signs of setting until the early evening – FINALLY! I swear though that we British people make the same comments about Summer every year, like we forget that we ever had sun in our existence.
‘I can’t believe how sunny it is!’ ‘Can you believe that it’s still light and it’s 6pm?!’ ‘Oh my god it’s so hot, I can’t stand this heat!’
But nevertheless I love it and I’d love if this Summer could just stay all year round? kthanks.
I love everything about Summer including the fashion and I’m really hoping that this season’s wardrobe will be full of bright colours, frills and big sleeves. I’ve teamed up with Apricot to give you a little look at their SSW for this year and they very kindly gifted me with a few outfits to keep.
Now I love denim and it’s something I’ve always loved since I was a kid. The material is very nostalgic to me and that’s why when I wear denim, I always think of the 90s. I wanted to get myself a new denim dress that I could wear casually at work but also when I’m on my holidays. This dark denim number is perfect because it’s just the right length for a lanky kid like me. There’s two chest pockets for detail and the fabric is light and breathable for sweaty McGees like myself. This denim dress is £24.00 and is available in both the dark and light blue. I think it would also look great with a thin brown belt to accentuate the waist.
There’s nothing that screams beach holidays more than this tribal embroidered neck shift dress. I love the detailing around the front, around the arms and along the hem line. The subtle cinching in the middle of the dress, gives it something special, rather than it being straight and plain. This piece is £29.00 and is going to be worn out by me by the time the end of Summer comes around.
And lastly, I had to get myself a new hat for the Summer. I must admit that wearing hats on my holidays can be a bit of a hit and miss. I try to stay away from straw hats because let’s be honest, I won’t be wearing them during the Winter! So I wanted something versatile that still felt summery. This tan Fedora hat was the perfect match and looks super slick with the dark denim dress. Pairing it with some embroidered boots and I’m ready to embrace the sun in all it’s glory. The hat also comes in a dark navy and is on sale for £8.00 so get it before it’s gone!
What fashion do you think you’ll be wearing this Summer? Let me know in the comments below.
