Five Tips For Your Next Hot Tub Or Spa Party

No matter what the occasion is, a hot tub or spa party is always superior to a common dinner party. For one thing, you don’t have to spend hours slaving in the kitchen trying to prepare a meal. The main focus of a dinner party, after all, is the food. For another, you don’t have to worry about getting the right cocktail dress or spending an entire day decorating the house.

Hot Tub PartyWe had a hot tub party to see in 2018 and it was such a great laugh. With a hot tub party, all the attention will be centred almost entirely on the hot tub and, to a lesser extent, the liquor. However, there are still several things you need to take care of to ensure your party will be a massive success.

Guest List

Spa or hot tub parties are meant to create or strengthen the bonds between friends who enjoy each other’s company. They also entail a high level of physical intimacy. As such, to prevent any awkwardness, make sure all the guests know and are comfortable with one another.

Otherwise, you might end up with many of your guests tucked in tightly in a single corner of the tub to avoid being near an unpleasant guest. In addition, you need to know what kind of a drunk every guest is. Some drunks become quiet or philosophical, while others can get loud and handsy – you definitely don’t want those.

Finally, your tub can only accommodate a certain number of users – stay within the limit. You want an intimate, not a crowded train atmosphere. Besides, too many bodies will negate the amazing hydrotherapeutic benefits of a hot tub.

Clean Your Tub

It is good manners, not to mention hygienic, to clean your hot tub or spa before the party. Drain the water, clean the floor, sides and vents, and refill it once again. Drop in the required amount of chemicals to ensure the water is clean and the acidity and alkalinity levels are balanced.

It wouldn’t hurt to ask everyone to take a quick shower before getting into the tub to remove residue contaminants (oil, make up, deodorant, etc.).

Plan Some Games

Keep your guests entertained by planning an itinerary for the party – you can only play drinking games for so long. Waterproof card and board games are a must have. Games like Pictionary (remember to get an easel and some paper) and charades also provide great fun. If you have a large TV, a movie night is also a great idea.

Accessorise Your Tubs!

There are literally thousands of accessories that can add some sparkle to your hot tub. A great starter choice is a hot tub tray, which can be hung on the sides of the tub. Having one means you can keep glasses and liquors nearby, and your guests don’t need to climb out of the tub every time they need a refill.

A spa bar table is equally useful as it eliminates the need to constantly run into the house for snacks and finger food. Floating LCD lights is another smart choice as they provide illumination and ambience.

What’s a party without music? Pick a playlist that matches the interests and demographic of your age group. Don’t limit your choices to current hits. While Camila Cabello’s Havana is great, nothing beats the melancholic classics of the 70s and 80s. You can even ask your guest in advance on their personal preferences.
