– COLLABORATIVE CONTENT –

London is a pretty huge city by European standards, and yet although it attracts millions of tourists from around the globe each year and is one of the most famous cities in the world, many people still underestimate just how big it actually is, so if you’re planning a weekend to the English capital anytime soon, then you’ll want to make the most of your time here by seeing and doing the things that really allow you to capture the heart of London.

London is a city that will cater to basically every age group and every taste since it’s so diverse and multi-cultural, but there’s also a lot of its own history here, so if you’re looking to do things that don’t involve the usual touristy stuff like visiting the London Eye or taking a selfie outside of Buckingham Palace in hopes of catching a glimpse of The Queen, then we’ve got you covered with some true London sights not to be missed if you want to enjoy the city the way the locals do.

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

This stunning stadium was built for the 2012 London Olympics which were the pride of the UK, and it’s a place well worth a visit. The stadium itself is rather underrated compared to other famous structures in the city, and although the location of the stadium is a little outside of the city limits, it’s easily accessible via public transport and is located in an area with a lot of cute bars and restaurants where you can try different international and local cuisines at a bit less than the typical London prices. If you feel like it, you can also take a swim in the same pool where Michael Phelps won 6 medals in 2012.

A West End Show

No visit to London is complete without taking in a show at the world famous West End where you can find shows and performances to suit every budget and taste. This is a place like no other and it’s full of tourists and locals who come here to enjoy the huge range of entertainment on offer daily. You can find a whole range of options for shows by looking for London theatre tickets online or asking at the tourist information desk or even at your hotel and you’ll definitely find some amazing things to see at great prices, and often you can pick up good deals where you can find things like tickets and meals or drinks included in the price so you can make an evening of it.

Taste A Traditional Curry

Whilst curry is probably not the first thing that comes to most people’s minds when they think of British cuisine, curry has long been a staple in the country due to the large Indian community, so if you want to give your taste buds a treat, then head to Tayyabs for one of the best curries that the city has to offer.

Highgate Cemetery

Visiting a cemetery probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of visiting London, but this one is somewhere to come and enjoy a peaceful stroll through whilst admiring the Victorian statues that lie all around, and it’s also the final resting place of some very famous names, including Karl Marx.
