What started out as a hobby is fast becoming my full-time job. Blogging has been something I’ve made into a business and I wanted to share with you how I managed to create it. Now it’s certainly been no overnight success. I started blogging back in 2014 and since then I’ve sort of stumbled through it, trying to learn as I go and I’ve found with blogging that there’s no end game. You could literally work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on blogging because there’s always something you can do to improve yourself or your blog.

Eagerness To Improve
Whether it’s improving my pitch over e-mail or editing old blog posts and refreshing them for new audiences, there’s always something that I can do to make things better. I’m a perfectionist and I’ve come to also accept that I’ll never be content with my success. I feel though that’s probably one of the main elements of my personality that’s always been in me whatever job or role that I’ve been assigned within life thus far. I always want to impress and go that extra mile. Showing eagerness is only going to work in your favour and although that can sometimes disappear for a short period of time, know that there’s always something to improve.
Connecting And Networking
Both in person, over the phone and e-mail, I’m always keeping up with my connections and my networking skills. I really don’t consider myself to be a confident person, in fact, I fake it a lot of the time. That may surprise some people that know me but throw me into a situation where there’s a lot of big characters, and I’ll often find myself shrinking into the abyss. I always make sure that every business opportunity is grabbed with both hands and that everything is done professionally. One of the things that I have learnt is that having a consulting agreement in place or a contract of some sort is so important. Regardless of how brief the work may be, I’ll always keep evidence of conversations that have taken place so that in the event of something going south, I can at least protect myself.
Networking is something I’m actively trying to make happen more and more nowadays and I also need to be doing this in person, not just over e-mail.
Hunger For Success
What else comes with my eagerness? Well, success goes hand in hand with it. I have always wanted to be successful in something. I always knew that there was something beyond my hometown and I’m a big believer in fate and things happening for a reason. I think a variety of positive and negative things has led me to this point and this hunger for success is never really going to dampen. Success for me is being recognised for my contributions and leaving an impression on this earth that will hopefully live on. Success for me is also financial and I think the money worrier in me would certainly benefit from financial success. I’d love to have enough money to not worry about it and I kinda want a BIG house.
Gratitude And Being Humble
Every time I find myself gravitating away from being humble and having gratitude, I find something to pull me back down to earth. I think being gracious of what you’ve got in life, especially for me living in London is hugely important. I wouldn’t like myself if I was rude or turned my nose up at other people. I live a privileged life and I need to make sure that the lessons my parents taught me, do not go away. Being humble about my blog business has only spurred the motivation in me to improve and get better. It’s helped me figure out things that I couldn’t get my hand around and I will always be thankful for everything I receive and achieve. Never take anything or anyone for granted. Life lesson y’all.
