How I’m Trying To Bring More Traffic To UpYourVlog

When I first started my blog, I didn’t really expect to get the volume of traffic that I now have. The blog really came from me wanting to update my family and friends with what I was up to down in London. However, as my content became more consistent, so too did the readers. When running a business, your customers are important and for me, those customers are my readers who engage with the content. Going freelance gives me the opportunity of spending more time, giving the audience what they want and hopefully from that, I can grow my readership even more. Here are some things that I’m planning on doing from the beginning of next month to bring more traffic to my blog.

Pinning On Pinterest

When I started using Pinterest and actually got myself trained on how to use it, I ended up getting over 800,000 views to my Pinterest boards. Not all people are clicking on the links but it could potentially be a big traffic booster to my blog. Over the next couple of months, I want to spend an hour a day, updating old posts and creating pins for Pinterest. Hopefully, I can get myself back into a routine of scheduling new pins on Pinterest. Tailwind is a great automation platform to use if you’re trying to increase the number of pins you want to pin each day. You get a certain amount on the free plan but I pay so that I can upload an unlimited amount.

Uploading Regularly To Instagram

Instagram is bloody annoying. It’s so difficult to increase your followers without converting to a typical blogger’s page that’s just full of flat lays and has zero personality. UpYourVlog is all about my own life and I want my Instagram page to always reflect that. However, I need to continue to publish consistently if I want to make a difference in the number of followers I have. Three times per day is apparently the recommended amount and they need to be high-quality snaps. Not only that but I need to be liking hundreds of photos per day as well as commenting on posts. I incorporated this into my weekly planner but that’s kind of gone to pot recently. However, I’m definitely seeing the positives of me posting up so regularly and I’m going to continue it from now on. I hope that I can reach around 5,000 followers by the new year.

Scheduling And Promoting Blog Posts

Scheduling your posts and promoting them on social media is essential and I don’t get why more people don’t do it when it comes to their company’s blog section or other bloggers in general. How are people going to see your content if you don’t promote it? I had someone scheduling my content each month and it was such a good service to have and to delegate to someone else. However, that’s changed and now I need to do it for myself for a while until I find someone who can do it for me again.

Assess The Analytics

You can learn a lot about your readers and when you know what they love reading, you can tailor your content to suit their needs. Assess the analytics that I currently have in the form of Google Analytics is something I want to take more advantage of. There’s so much data on there that is worth taking full advantage of. It tells me who exactly is the reader from their age to their geographic location. It can be a goldmine of information for any business and I do intend on using it to my advantage. Taking advantage of customer success software is what will help me improve my traffic.

Bring In The Professionals

One thing that I mentioned previously was that my goals for my blog were to eventually hire a team. I never thought I could get to that point but in reality, it could definitely happen sooner than I think. Once I’m earning more through my social media, I’m going to transfer that management to a social media agency who can do all the engagement on social media, leaving me with more time to look after the more important stuff.
