I feel like all I’m going to talk about on my blog is about my wedding but babe, it’s still so far away I need to provide myself with some entertainment somewhere. Wedding hair is one thing that I’m feeling pretty confident is going to look BOMB either way because I have the most amazing person who will be doing my hair. Well I say doing, I hope he’s still operating as a bridal hairdresser by 2021 because he is killing it. Go give my friend Michael Gray a cheeky follow on Instagram.

So a couple of years ago, I got my hair cut to raise money for someone who knew that was battling cancer. The haircut was the shortest I’d ever had it but Michael came through with this gorgeous cut and style that I have not since been manage to perfect! I have kept this length of hair for a while now but after my last cut in December, I’m going to not going to the hairdressers for a longer than normal to help my hair grow. I’m also going to be strict with how much hair they are allowed to chop off.
I’m hoping that my hair still has the habit of growing back really quickly but if that’s not the case I could probably think about getting some hair extensions put in. These affordable and customizable human toppers and wigs and hair extensions are pretty much something that a lot of women will use in order to add length or volume to their hair. A lot more of us are wearing wigs now too because there seems to be a lot of popularity from celebrities online selling them and then promoting them to their followers. So what wedding styles am I thinking about?
Half Up, Half Down
I think for me, this is likely to be the one that wins but it’s nice to have some options so that I can trial them with Michael during my wedding hair trial. The half-up, half down is like the perfect in between and I think I’d appreciate having hair swept away from my face. I’ve been pinning like mad recently but here’s some inspiration for my wedding hair in terms of this hairstyle.
I like the idea of having flowers in my hair but then I wouldn’t have a veil if that was the case. However if I had a preference, I think I’d pick the veil over the flowers in the hair. I’m planning on having some lighter toned colours of brown in my hair, just so it can give that layered look like you can see in the hairstyle to the far right.
The Loose Bun
The loose bun is something that I might like to consider, particularly with the weather and how it might be on the day. If it’s going to be sweltering, I might not like the idea of getting married and there’s sweat pouring down the back and soaking my hair. I wouldn’t want it to be too tight, just loosly assembled like these below.
I think there’s definitely an opportunity for a loose bun to have a little more added detail to it. I don’t know whether I’d have a veil for a loose bun, particularly if the veil won’t be able to support itself in the bun – who knows? I just like what seems like a very effortless look but probably takes more work than it seems as the hair stylist. Every strand of hair seems to be perfect put in it’s place.
Curly And Flowing
And lastly, the standard curls and fully down hair. I have to admit, when comparing this look to the other two, I don’t tink this is going to be a contender in anyway, but nevertheless here are a few inspirational pictures that I pulled from Pinterest.
I’ve kept in a wildcard short hair moment because who knows what my attitude towards wedding hair will be next year. I do know for certain though that curls are a must at my wedding. I definitely want my hair styled this way because it just adds more glam and volume to my hair, which is normally limp and straight. Have you had your wedding recently? Let me know the wedding hair you went for in the comments below.
