I realised that last year, my content for Christmas was pretty sparse and so much so that I didn’t get to show off my Christmas tree in all of it’s glory. We didn’t end up getting a real tree the year before last and so I bought a fake one at a bargain price of around £40 I believe. I think the tree had been reduced from like £80, so it was a good saving. The decor for this year has stayed the same because I love the gold and it really suits the rest of the apartment. Also, we only have a limited space in our apartment and so to buy more decor would mean having to find more places to store it!
I can’t remember exactly where we got the tree from but I’m going to take a stab in the dark and say it came from Tesco when they still had the online store that sold all their homeware, etc. I got all the decor from a Robert Dyas in my local shopping center. I got some Christmas baubles last year from a work colleague and a couple of Christmas tree decorations, including a picture of me and Sam. I don’t think I’m going to be the person who buys a different, quirky bauble each year but perhaps if we ended up having a big enough house to have two trees, I would.
Warm lights are something I much prefer when it comes to the festive season, a white light is just too cold and harsh for me. I also think the warm light suits the gold tones on the tree. The tree itself comes with plastic red berries, frosted fir and acorns. I think it’s a really nice touch to the tree because otherwise, it would look quite plain. The red berries are just subtle enough that they don’t stick out like a sore thumb.
Christmas is my favourite time of year and I actually love the set up that the festive season does for our apartment. I kind of wish that I could keep it as it is all year round. It’s always sad to have to take the tree down in January.
What does your Christmas Tree look like? Describe it to me in the comments below and tell me one thing you really love about Christmas and the festive period! For me it’s all about spending quality time with friends and family.
