I love my Netflix round-ups because it reminds me that there’s so much that Netflix churns out as a platform and it continues to exceed anything else that’s out there. From their original content to showing some of the classics, I’m excited to have plenty of Netflix on in the background as I work away this Blogmas. So this year for Netflix has been a great one in terms of content that I’ve watched. Forensic Files has seen me through the first part of the year and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the worst of what humans can do. Other crime documentaries like I Am A Killer was so intriguing as it made you question whether they were guilty or not. I also managed to binge watch the entirity of Friends finally, as I’ve not seen all of the episodes before. With the festive season here, we’ve got plenty of content to enjoy on Netflix to get you into the festive mood. So here are a few of my picks.
Sugar Rush Christmas
Now I am obsessed with the majority of the cooking shows that you can now find on this platform and have been made specifically for this. I did watch the Bake Off because they also put all of the seasons up until Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood said he would go but then came back. Sugar Rush is where you have teams of two and I believe there’s four in total, who go up against each other to make some pretty amazing creations. Of course, it’s called Sugar Rush for a reason and that’s because it’s full of sweet treats. This Christmas special is sure to be a smash hit and I’ll definitely be watching this over the festive period.
A Christmas Prince : A Royal Baby
Now, I have to admit that Netflix does some pretty good Christmas romantic comedies. Yes it’s sometimes utterly cheesy but I bloody love it. Now this one is apparently the third installment of three. I believe I’ve watched the first one but not the second. It definitely gives me the British vibes, which I think is why I like it so much. The third movie in the franchise is A Christmas Prince – A Royal Baby and I think we can all imagine what that will entail. I’m excited to watch it and by the time this post goes live, I’ll have probably already watched it.
King Arthur : Legend Of The Sword
Now this isn’t an original but I love that really good movies go onto Netflix and in some cases, they are put on fairly soon after they’ve come out of the cinema. With King Arthur, I saw this advertised on the coming soon section of the Netflix app. It stars my partner’s favourite actor, Charlie Hunnam and guys, he’s not too bad to look at if I’m being honest. I saw a flash of David Beckham in the film too, which was a bit bizarre but hey it looks like a good movie, so I think I might find an evening to watch that with Sam.
The Princess Switch
And finally, what I believe is the modern day version of The Parent Trap, the Princess Switch stars one of my favourites, Vanessa Hudgens as she plays two characters like Lindsay Lohan did. From what the trailer shows, it seems like she has done a good job of distingushing between two characters and I think even though this might be an uber cheesy one, I’m ready for all of the cheese.
