What Will Post-Lockdown Dating Look Like?

As more days go by in lockdown, I start to wonder what our world is going to look like when we come out of lockdown? I hope that I never have to go through this experience again in my lifetime because it just goes to show how much of life that we miss out on in the space of just a few months. We were meant to have been reunited with my nan’s sister last month and I was meant to shop for my wedding dress last weekend. It got me thinking about what the world would look like when we came out of it and especially things like dating.

I can’t imagine what it must be like for those who are in relationships that now have to be long-distance because of the situation that’s going on. And for those who are single, what is their dating life going to be like when this lockdown is over but social distancing and certain restrictions remain?

Casual relationships are certainly something that are going to be fairly non-existent for a while, especially as places, where you’d traditionally meet for dates, are likely to be closed or on a social distancing rule. Who knows if you’d also be able to see family members and friends outside of the lockdown and when those restrictions will be eased. There might be a lot more online and virtual dating as a result with people getting to know each other over the internet for a longer period of time before meeting physically. It could mean that as a result, dating websites like www.nostringsdating.net might set up options to do video calling so that those who want to hookup, will have to do it long-distance for the time being.

With me being a hopeless romantic, I actually think there’s going to be some change into how relationships form and hopefully they’ll form on emotional connections, rather than simply sexual ones. Getting to know someone for their mind and who they are, without going into that physical aspect of finding a sex dating site and jumping straight into bed with them,  might be refreshing for some.

I think there’s definitely going to be more appreciation for getting out in life and spending time with friends and family. Even for those that might enjoy their own company and not get out so much, we’re all struggling with not having that freedom to get out and just enjoy life. It’s certainly the little things that I’m missing in life at the moment.

What do you think is going to happen once we get out of this lockdown? There’s certainly going to be a new world that we live in and hopefully a more loving one at that. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
