Ok, so 2020 is turning out to be the year we thought it would be. In fact, I don’t think anyone expected us to be in quite this position but alas, here we are. In order to get the most out of this miserable year, many are opting to do a staycation in order to explore the country they’re in and to spend time with friends and family. So if you’re looking for some staycation ideas, here are four staycation ideas for 2020.
Spa Day
Anyone who knows me will know that I love a trip to the spa and although it’s not quite the spa vibes you get in a tropical location, a spa day or weekend can be an ideal staycation idea. For those who perhaps don’t want to travel or do anything overly active on their staycation, the spa can be a great place to relax and unwind in. Grab a book and sit by an indoor pool or get one of many massages available in a hotel environment or perhaps at a dedicated spa that you spend the afternoon at. It’s a bit of luxury and self-pampering that most of us will need after such a traumatic year.
A Weekend Of Sport
If you’re one who likes adventure and doing various activities, then you’ll love doing something like Direct Golf Holidays. A weekend of sport might be just what you need in order to get out any frustration of being trapped inside for so many months. If golf isn’t your thing, then you can always try something different! There are lots of different sports out there that you can pair up with a weekend away, like Go Ape, for example. A lot of holiday camp locations will likely have plenty of sporting activities to do too!
Go Camping…Or Glamping!
Now I’m not a fan of camping by any means but I would consider doing it if there was a glamping option. Yes, I’d go camping to do everything but the camping itself. I’m not a fan of sleeping bags and being cold and having no electricity. I’d much rather go glamping but still enjoy the other experiences that come with camping. I love getting out and walking, so this would be a great way of brushing off the cobwebs and staying inside and doing something different.
Pub Tour
For some, the idea of a staycation is doing everything but exercise. For me, that’s something I can get on board with, especially if it’s a pub tour. If you’re in an area that has plenty of pubs in the vicinity, then you could always do a pub crawl of sorts. but there are also opportunities to travel from place to place to visit some of the most historical or iconic pubs in the UK. Why don’t we all go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this COVID thing to blow over. Yeah?
Let me know if you’ve got any staycation ideas planned for this year in the comments below.
