Getting Sleek & Smooth Hair with Nutree Professional

Upon reading the bottle, I noticed that it was for professional use only. LOL. I’m not a professional but hey I thought let’s give it a go. The Nutree Professional Amazonliss Protein Smoothing Brush is said to provide up to three months of sleek and smooth hair. When it comes to my hair, I would say it’s pretty healthy but the recent ombre balayage that I had has definitely hindered its health. So I was keen to give this product a go and see how it performed on my hair.

Now it’s worth noting that you don’t need to wash your hair for this but I did wash mine after I followed the instructions. So I did the whole blowdrying and straightening before washing my hair properly. I noticed that my hair didn’t feel quite right as the instructions said to leave half the product in. I also needed to wash my hair because it felt greasy. But anyway, let’s get into the product review.

The bottle is 60ml and for my hair was just enough to completely saturate and cover my hair. I would say you probably need another bottle for longer hair. Although it says it’s odor-free, it does have a slight but pleasant odor to it. The instructions tell you to apply this straight to dry hair and then to leave it in for 40 minutes. It’s advised you do a skin test beforehand, which I did do.

After leaving it in, you’re meant to wash 50% of it out. I would say that this is a little bit confusing because of how much is 50%? I was there with the shower head over me, wondering whether I had indeed got 50% out of hair. There’s no way of knowing, so I think this would have been better translated into perhaps minutes or seconds spent with your head under the water. You’re then meant to blow dry it and once dry, straighten the hair in four sections.

The instructions tell you to straighten from the roof to the middle, 8-10 times, and then from the middle to the ends 4-5 times. I did slightly less as my hair was damaged from the balayage. I also put some heat-protectant spray in when blow-drying and straightening my hair. The difference in my hair after I stepped out of the shower was that it felt sleek and smooth, so it does what it says on the tin. It’s a little dry still and I think I need to treat my hair to a few masks in order to put the moisture back into it.

This treatment will lighten any coloured hair slightly but that’s something I actually wanted for my hair anyway as I planned to have some more caramel tones put into my hair at the start of next year. The natural progression from my original hair colour to the caramel, to the slightly blonder tones, will definitely blend together well.

You can buy this via their website here and it costs $39.00. I think for those who really long hair, you’re going to be spending money on two bottles to cover it properly.
