I often tell people that I don’t have a DIY bone in my body, and that is true. Beyond a bit of painting or putting up flat-pack furniture, there’s very little I can do beyond that.
Sometimes I wish I could do more, but I never really had much of an upbringing focused on DIY, and nowadays, I’d rather get a professional in to do the job so that I don’t mess it up.
However, one challenge I gave myself recently was putting up some beautiful decals made from Rose Rowan Design. I mean, how hard could they be? Thankfully, the DIY gods looked down on me today because I put them up perfectly.
These decals, made by Rose Rowan Design, are of wallpaper quality. Unlike other wall stickers that perhaps feel and look like a sticker, you can tell a lot of high-quality materials have gone into making this type of decal sticker. I wanted something that wasn’t too nursery-like and that I knew would be a nice feature in the space for years to come.
The decals come rolled up, and it’s all on one sheet. You get instructions on how to apply it correctly, and it’s important to note that you should lay it flat if you’re not going to apply it straight away.
As recommended, I cut these decals up individually so that I could loosely tape them to the wall as I configured the layout. It was easy enough to figure out where everything would go, and I liked the idea of the clouds and stars merging onto the wall alongside where the hot air balloon would go.
The name of this product is Premium Fabric Nursery Wall Stickers – Personalised Hot Air Balloon. It costs £45.00, which I believe to be worth the price, especially when it comes to not only the detailing of the stickers but also how high-quality they are. They don’t look cheaply made, and there’s no shine to the stickers either, so it blends into the space without reflecting any light.
I’ve decided to place the decals in this corner of my little one’s room in order to make it a sort of reading nook. My sister-in-law and brother are giving me their nursing chair, and I’ve got a bookshelf that I’m going to put up so that we can enjoy some bedtime reading as he grows.
I’m really happy with how this turned out, and the personalised part of the decal makes this a wonderful touch to what is already a beautiful piece of home decor for my little one’s room.
This has gotten me excited to decorate the rest of his room, but as we’ve moved into a big property from a flat, I’m going to take it a little bit at a time. However, this nursery room is probably the first room I want to properly finish by the end of summer.
If you’re looking at bedroom stickers for your little one, I urge you to check out Rose Rowan Design and to support a small business where you can.
