This post should have gone up on Sunday so I’m giving you double trouble with two blog posts tonight!
So where the hell did January go? It feels like only days ago that we were celebrating the arrival of 2016 and now we are already mid way through February! I apologise for the lack of activity on my YouTube channel but I’m in the process of purchasing a softbox lighting kit, which means I will be able to film a YouTube video in the evening. Currently, I work most days and with the lack of sunlight that winter provides, the only way to film would be midday and I’m just not available then.
Anyway, I was planning on doing a January Favourites, however I thought I’d post it on here, rather than film it. January is a tough month in many ways, financially because of the excessive Christmas spending, health wise because of Christmas food or the beginnings of a cold and acting wise (if you’re a performer) as work can be quite slow.
Vasaline Lip Therapy (Cocoa Butter)
My all time favourite lip balm and nothing else has really every come close. The Vasaline range is probably one of the oldest around and I’ve used it since I was a baby! The lip therapy range is delightful, however I LOVE the cocoa butter flavour. It smells so good and it provides me lips with that much needed moisture during the winter days.
Tea Tree Facial Scrub
This stuff is great and I can’t believe it works so well for how affordable it was. The Tea Tree Facial Scrub is from Sainsburys and has featured on my blog before. It’s great for calming down the skin and getting rid of pesky spots and blackheads that have suddenly cropped up over night.
Definitely for good reason, I’ve slowly started to accumulate a collection of Rimmel lipsticks. I love these lipsticks and they are my favourite (affordable) go to whenever I’m doing my make-up. I’d love to be more daring with my lipsticks so I’m definitely going to treat myself to some new ones in the near future. Have you tried out any of the Rimmel lipstick range?
Pukka Herbs Tea (Peppermint and Liquorice)
I recently ordered a new batch of Pukka Herbs tea. If you’re a regular reader, then you’ll know how much I’ve raved about these since discovering them at The Stylist Live show last year. They are so flavoursome and taste so good, they also helped me avoid the cold my housemates had before Christmas. Make sure you go grab some and try it out!
So I haven’t quite got over the fact that I lost my Tangle Teezer (mini) a while back, which leaves me with my big tangle teezer and an empty heart. Tangle teezers are probably the best hair brush you’ll ever get it if you suffer from knots in your hair on a day to day basis. They are great for teasing out any stubborn knots without making your eyes water and wincing from the pain. Trust me I know from years of mum (gently) brushing my hair…
Diamond Cover Throw
The gorgeous Diamond throw that my wonderful chummy, Hannah brought me, provides me and Sam with that extra layer of warm during the cold nights. Normally it ends up kicked off the bed but that’s beside the point. You can buy this throw from ____. It’s thick and cosy and perfect to use as a blanket or throw on the sofa too!
If you are a fan of Cinnamon and all things spices then you will love Chai Lattes. They are my guilty pleasure for the simple fact that I shouldn’t spend so much money in Starbucks getting them. I certainly going to go after the cheaper alternative of buying it for myself for home.
A current favourite of mine and one I recently mentioned on my Netflix Binge post. Starring the incredible Glenn Close as a ruthless lawyer, hell bent on getting her way. I’m only on the first Season but myself and my partner are already hooked and we love it!
